Since Moses Malone came by the Sixers practice facility and gave pep talk on the importance on rebounding the Sixers have gone 3-1. The three wins coming when they outrebound their opponent and the one loss coming from when they got outrebounded.

i think the bucks loss really open their eyes to start playing defence and starts rebounding.

I think it played a huge part in opening their eyes, was it the soul reason I don’t think so. I think it was a mixture of that, and Maurice Cheeks coaching. Moses Malone could give a great speech, but unless he plans on being in the locker room and doing it before every game then we need a lot more than one speech to pick up our rebounding. Maurice Cheeks has been preaching rebounding and defense since he first arrived in Philadelphia, but I think hearing it from Cheeks everyday sort of made it like a child being scolded by their parents after a while it loses it’s meaning, but then they here it from someone they “admire” like a high profile athlete or someone who they really respect, and don’t see often, and that gives them motivation, but after that person leaves it up to the parent ( Maurice Cheeks) to keep that motivation going.

I guess what I am trying to say is that great coaching has as much to do with it as the speech. The speech was just one of those things where after you here it from someone else who is well respected you feel rejuvenated, and motivated to do that thing better.
