<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SuperSonics CEO Wally Walker said for the first time Wednesday that if the team does not get some response from the city of Seattle and the state by the end of the 2006 legislative session, it will begin accepting inquiries from other cities about the possibility of the Sonics moving. After a city council meeting Monday that led Walker to believe nothing is going to get done in the next legislative session, which begins in less than a month, he said the team is being forced to look at alternatives, including playing elsewhere. ?The Seattle SuperSonics want to stay here, and we will look at other local options,? Walker said. ?But if people from other cities call, we will pick up the phone for the first time.? Walker said the team has received inquiries from other cities ?through back channels.? He declined to say which cities were interested, but Kansas City, Mo., Oklahoma City, Anaheim, Calif., and Las Vegas have arenas and have made it known they would like to an NBA franchise. ?We have said, both back channel and directly, that we are pursuing ?Option A,? ? Walker said, referring to the possibility renovating KeyArena. ?But if the city can?t make up its mind whether they want us here past 2010, then we have to look at all our options.?</div> Source
blah, blah, blah That is exactly what the Mariners and then the Seahawks said to get THEIR new stadiums. While Charlotte did deny the Hornet's new stadium demand, they happily built one to bring in the Bobcats.
That'd be interesting. I wouldn't mind the Kansas City Sonics if it got Wally out of town. Then we'd get an expansion team, new stadium, #1 draft picks and probably Flip Murray in the expansion draft At least it'll be better than treading in this 10yr malaise.
I like my Sonics though. I like the green and gold and I've grown up with this team. I don't want some stupid expansion team that will only water the league down further. Somehow, Wally and Howard need to go. I don't like the way our front office does business, it doesn't seem like they're ever willing to spend any money for the good of the team or the fanbase. They don't seem to be interested in making big trades or fill team needs adequately to improve the team and they don't want to spend money to provide the proper facilities for our team.
Paul Allen just has to be a Blazers man doesn't he? I wouldn't mind an Allen-owned Seahawks-Sonics contingent.
I think Bill Gates needs to compete with Paul...Bill should buy the Sonics. How much do you think they're worth right now? I can't remember exactly how much Howie bought them for...was it like $135mil? or was it 300 something? Correct me if im wrong...
^ dat would be cool if he did lol. wut about dat nash guy who owns the blazers and seahawks?..he should sell the blazers and den try to buy the sonics, he has the cash to make us a better team.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Seattle.:</div><div class="quote_post">I like my Sonics though. I like the green and gold and I've grown up with this team.</div> Word. I still credit GP for my trash talking ability. Too many memories to just let it go. As someone who goes to a lot of games I want this team to leave. In the end they'll either work it out or we tax payers will shell out the money for a new dome.
