<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">If he can't land Ron Artest, with the Pacers intent on sending the wayward swingman to the West, look for Knicks president Isiah Thomas to pursue Seattle's Rashard Lewis. Thomas is admittedly obsessed with length and Lewis, at 6-10, is thus an irresistible small forward. This could only happen, granted, if the Sonics shift into cost-cutting mode. Yet if that is Seattle's response to a tough time financially, I'm hearing that Isiah would be ready to pounce with an offer featuring Penny Hardaway's expiring contract and rookie guard Nate Robinson, who's more popular in Seattle than Ray Allen after starring at Washington. The Knicks, hopeful that Lewis' recent proclamation about opting out his contract after next season helps their chances, would also absorb Danny Fortson in such a swap.</div> ESPN.com It's an interesting trade. If this were only for Penny Hardaway, I would do this in a heartbeat, but I am simply unwilling to package Nate in the deal. If Isiah wouldn't offer Nate in the Artest deal, he definitely wouldn't do it in a Rashard Lewis deal. I always liked Lewis, but if we get him, we're getting a potent offensive player, but a bad rebounder and defender. Kind of like a filthy rich man's Tim Thomas. I don't think there's high chances of this deal, though. Shard has been on fire this season.
Rashard Lewis is an amazing player and he'd be a great asset to this Knicks squad but I wouldnt do the deal if it involved Nate, thats just how much I love Nate. Once Nate calms down and becomes a better decision maker under the guidance of Larry Brown he'll be a top tier PG in this league and I truly believe that.
Has there ever been a player out on the market as a free agent or on the trading block the Knicks havn't shown an interest in? I'm all for improving your team but you gotta show stability!
we'll see what happens in the market. Hopefully something happens cuz the knicks losing streak seems never ending.. They need to make some changes
I don't get how you wouldn't want to give Nate and Penny for Rashard "All-star" Lewis. Nate is impressive and all, but Rashard is even more impressive and he's pretty young.
offloading a hasbeen penny hardaway is great too.. I think marbury would get traded since hes the guy that has the biggest weight on his shoulders and unable to carry the knick team with his allstar wages.

He can spread the floor with shooting so Curry can have more room when operating. Bad defender? Bad rebounder? Well he'll be right at home here in New York wont he? With no cap space and no draft picks in the near future the only way we can get better is by trading with other teams and our only assets are the expiring contracts and our young players. Penny and Nate for Lewis is highway robbery for the Knicks. But it's not going to happen. Anyway I think Isiah Thomas should be fired.

Rashard is good and all, but let’s not forget in two years he has a player option on his contract. So, if things aren’t looking good for us in two years, he is likely to leave. So, we would have just given up Nate and a good expiring contract for basically nothing in a few years. If he was locked up for four years, I might reconsider, but that isn’t the case. Right now we really need defense on the perimeter and Lewis isn’t going to give us that. But as you said, it doesn’t really matter. We’re probably not getting him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">Why is Thomas obsessed with players that play no defense? (Q-Rich, Curry, Lewis etc.)</div> Also he seems to want every player that might available. He was interested in Carter,Snow,Lewis,Artest, Patterson, KG, Randolph. The list could go on. The problem is that he can't find the right deal to get these players.
