Read it on realgm. That is the epitome of drinking your own bath water. I'm guessing Indiana was going to ship him off to a hellhole and Artest would rather stay than go to the Hawks/Toronto etc. IMO Artest would like it here and Mullin would like to have him but I think Walsh's price was too high. Who knows, maybe he gets traded to us tomorrow but the % just went down...A LOT.
Donnie Walsh already said its too late, the Pacers are sick of Artest and want him out. I thinnk Artest mostly wants to comeback because hes not going to go anywhere that he would like to. He doesnt want to go anywhere in the west and hes definitely not going to a contender. If he does go east it will probably be to the Hawks or Raptors like you mentioned Upsidedown. A team like the Warriors, who are fighting to make the playoffs, would be a best case scenario for him. I bet Mullin would take Artest under his wing due to the St. John's connection, the same way Mully did to Chris Taft.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Run BJM:</div><div class="quote_post">I bet Mullin would take Artest under his wing due to the St. John's connection, the same way Mully did to Chris Taft.</div> Just to clarify things. Ron Artest is from the Queens. Mullin is from Brooklyn. Taft is from Brooklyn. Mullin and Artest share the same alma mater with St. John's, but Taft and Mullin are from the same neighborhood. I understand what you mean, though.
This is kind of how I've been feeling about him. He just seems like he wants attention kind of like the little three year olds at the park screaming "Mommy! I want to go!" And then when they are leaving "I wanted to stay!" He just wants attention. He's gotten all the attention in the world in the last two years. I think that if I were Walsh, I'd just deal him to see how he feels, or make him in-active for the rest of the year.
On 2nd thought, Artest wants to stay in Indy (too bad since Artest's teammates don't want him back) He betrayed the management and his teammates after they went to bat for him. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...459/1004/SPORTS
I still think the Pacers will trade him, but take their time. It's becoming too much of an embarassment to keep him.
