Chauncey Billups hits the game winner against the Grizzles 106-104 after double OT

After Damon hit the three to tie It with 4 secs left I didn't think this game would ever end

Chauncey ended up with 30 points and 9 assists

the no turnovers is the most impressive number.

0 turnovers in 45 freaking minutes? amazing

Yeah, Billups is having an MVP season for the Pistons. He's really playing well without Larry Brown on the sidelines. I remember he was the biggest question mark after LB left, because everyone expected Billups to start ball hogging without LB's discipline.

He had 3 chances to win the game and finally hit the 3rd one.

I don't think his name is Mr Big Shots

Whats your point? he still hit the big time shots all through the game and kept the Pistons in the game and then hit the game winner. All big time shots from a big time clutch player. Trust a Heat fan to come here trying to find the negative.

I can't believe this guy didn't turn the ball over in 45 minutes. Point guards just don't do that anymore. I'm extremely impressed with his play this season, and I hope we can see him keep it up and actually put a point guard not named Nash in the running this year. Point guards that the league and media recognize as being "Most Valuable" is just such a rare treat, Nash really showed us what the result of that kind of play is last year, and I think Billups is doing just the same now in Detroit. I just hope that people remember this come the end of the regular season.

I think it's safe to say that he's the best point guard in the league.

^^I'd say he's the best overall player at the pg position (one of the few that plays lock down d), but not the best pg.

That still goes to Nash. No disrespect to Billups, his game is ill. Nash picked up right where he left off, and is dishing to to completly new people. Billups' squad hasn't really changed, and the only knock I have against him is that he should easily be able to get as many assits as Nash.

Not only is Billups on a better overall team, but he knows his players. Nash got plently of assists passing to a trailing Q-Rich and JJ, but their departure didn't hurt his dimes at all. Not to mention that Nash is getting a lot of assists by running a half court offense now that they have a guy like Kurt Thomas, and the fact that he hasn't had Amare to pass to all this year.

No disrespect to B-b-b-billups, he's one of my favorite players, but I'd still take Nash.

I'll totally back you up on that one. I think Billups is one of the best, but the threat with Nash is two-fold. The man scores when you need him too, but when he isn't needed, he's making everyone else better. Billups does that to some extent, but not to Nash's level. If I'm building a team, Nash gets that starting nod every time. The other thing is, when Stevie needs to score 50 to win, he will. If he needs to score 10 and hold on to the ball, he will. His offensive ability is extremely versatile.

At the same time, Nash's defense is so remarkably bad that it literally takes away from your team defense. Billups is absolutely lock down when it's called for, and better than average every other time. Defense can turn an opponent on their ear, and Billups plays the kind of defense that does that. Either way, I think they're both all stars, both candidates for MVP, and both have a real shot at a championship.

Billups' team is just to good for him to seriously be considered and MVP.

I think what you are meaning to say is that his team is too balanced. Any of the starting 5 can have a big game on any given night. I would agree with you, if it weren't for the fact that the Suns were easily just as balanced last year when Nash won it.

It's a good point though, last year in game 7 of the finals everyone was clueless about who the finals MVP would have been if the Pistons had won. Besides, the Spurs face a similar problem, but the fact that Duncan is easily a better player than Manu and Parker makes him the obvious MVP in situations like that.
