Mcgrady's confident that the Rockets will be fine, and he intends to carry the offense. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> "As long as I'm in that uniform and out on that court, we'll be fine," McGrady said. "Everything is on me, and I will lead these guys. I will get back to being the old Mac like I was in Orlando where I was basically just going out and averaging 30-something points. "If I don't do that, we won't win. It's just plain and simple. With all those guys out, if I don't go out and if I do that, we won't win ballgames, so expect that."</div> http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...kn/3539115.html How many ppg will T-Mac average while Yao is out? Who knows, maybe we'll see a few 40 and 50 point games in the coming month.
Let's hope he's up to it. He struggled from the field against Kobe and Devean George's defense, and we will need him to put up at least 28 a night to have a chance in any game. Role players like Wesley, Head and Howard will step up once in a while, and as long as they can take turns sharing a bit of TMac's load, I think we can stay at around .500.
Yay, just what I needed to hear. T-Mac is the only one that can really do anything special while over a 3rd of our roster is injured.
We're definitely going to need McGrady to start scoring more, but I also hope he won't be making some bad decisions out there like jacking up too many shots and excluding the teammates in the game. Kind of scares you when you think back to his last season with Orlando.
Nah I'm not too worried about him not getting others involved.....I think Tracy has matured since his Orlando days and I think he has better options to pass to now (even with the injuries)
I heard it from Reggie and I heard it from Charles. The degree of difficulty on T-Macs shots are so high, that its surprising he makes them some times (well for me just sometimes). I don't mind T-Mac taking a tough shot, which has a higher chance of going in rather than Deke putting up a hook shot (only 36%), Ryan who can't hit an open jumper to save his life (32%), and sometimes Wesley. When T-Mac was averaging 32PPG he was shooting 46% from the field. That is GREAT. I prefer him taking 30-35% of the teams shots now.
damn.....he not only didnt take 30-35% of the teams shot...he shot 18% from the field 2nite..........
I really hope he can get back to his 02-03 form...we're gonna need it really bad. Injuries have devastated us this season... T-Mac really did nothing to impress me tonight, especially only shooting 11 shots
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting steam03:</div><div class="quote_post">damn.....he not only didnt take 30-35% of the teams shot...he shot 18% from the field 2nite..........</div> McGrady made his defenders look they belong on the All-Defensive team. All of a sudden he doesn't know how to dribble around a double team? What happened? And the Ryan Bowen experiment should be officially over. Head needs to start again. We need scorers on the floor without Yao.
T-mac's not right....I don't know if it's his back or what but he looked like he was at a funeral!! Am I the only one who thinks he should go to the rack instead of settling for jumpers??
Though he had a good rebounding and passing game he was critically off tonight. He seems to be looking tired as he had been slow tonight. I was thinking he may have let his teammates get involved in the game to increase their shooting confidence so he may not be the only threat next time. I understand that double/triple teaming him takes out his game especially when the opponents has no respect for your teammates to make their shots. Anderson's presence should have helped because he had the ability to make his own shots in tight situations thereby reducing the pressure on TMac. TMac, Yao and Anderson are the only Rockets player that demmands serious attention. The rest are just catch and shoot, semi-post and alley hoop players. Although Head has the ability to make pull up jumpers,as well as slash and penetrate to the basket he's still a year away to develop those skills effectively. We could only hope that youngsters such as Head, Baxter and Graham would mature quickly to contribute to the team's survival.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dingking:</div><div class="quote_post">He got only 7 pts. He said he will get 30 pts/game before the game. Kinda embarrassing, isn't he?</div> He wasn't even looking to shoot the ball. He'd pass the ball out of the double-team then just hang around at the top of the key where he was non-effective. Seems to also have forgotten taking the ball to the rack at all.
I hope he goes back to the old t-mac he hasn't done that so far.. since comming to the rockets he changes alot.. according to the stats
