Sunday, Payton was at his best -- or worst, depending on your perspective. The target of his verbal jabs was former Heat forward Lamar Odom. And Odom didn't take well to Payton's chatter. </div>

Yep, GP talking trash is a given.

The sad thing is Odom lacks the mental toughness to shrug this off...this kinda stuff or one bad call could easily distract him the rest of the game.

Gary Payton is Gary Payton and will always trash talk to anyone no matter if its Jordan, Malone or anyone else he's ever played against. That is what makes Gary Gary, the way he gets into his opponents head and takes their focus off the game.

Payton has been one of the leagues premire trash talkers along with retired Pacer Reggie Miller. Trash talk is part of his mental game.

Payton played well. I give him credit. The Heat would have lost without him on the floor yesterday.

I give GP props on the offensive end. But not so much on the defensive end. I feel like Kobe just pretty much bailed him out with some bad shots.

Odom has been in the league long enough and knows about guys like Cassell and Payton and all their rants. Odom is from Jamaica Queens a place that I'm very, very famaliar with(it's only four blocks away from me) and I'm 99% sure that Odom has dealt with worse trash talkers than GP, so me personally I'm guessing that GP crossed the line. Odom would be able to shake it off if it was a regular GP trash talking. I'm positive that GP said something real personal. It's one thing to probably challenge him and talk bad about his game(which is what GP does) but another think to talk about family and personal related issues, which is what I think the Glove was talking about. Whatever the case may be, when both teams go head-to-head in LA I think Odom will make it a personal agenda to show up in that game.
