Nice find. I'd do that trade for sure...a legitimate initiator in Jalen and our defensive stopper in Artest. I'm losing faith in Odom and Kobe isn't getting any younger...Kobe's in his prime and we gotta take advantage of it.
If the Lakers pull it off, I think it will be great. As for the Pacers, I kinda feel their kinda getting ripped of a little.
It might happen, but i could tell you Pacers will never forget that trade they have done.. There gonna suck!

Wait up now. The initial deal had us only getting Croshere back. However, Jalen/Austin are an equal swap in every catagorie, and Slava is expiring too, and more improtantly, the pick sweetns the deal. My only question, is this LA's pick or Miami's?? What's the protection going to be?

What's the protection going to be?</div> It would be Miami's pick, it's lottery protected, but I don't think the Heat are going to be in the lottery anytime soon, so it should end up being a late 1st round pick for the Raptors.
I love this as a Laker fan, we need Artest's defense and hopefully Rose offense. Odom has potential for triple double's but seemed intimidated by Kobe and could not grasp Phil's offense. Rose will not be intimidated by Kobe. Artest will fit in great in Hollywood. If he wants to go crazy he can just go to one of Jack's house parties. Sean Penn can hold the camerman down for him.
I think for what the Lakers are getting they should have to give up their own 1st rounder to the Raptors, and the Raptors send a 2nd rounder over to the pacers.

as a pacer fan i think this deal is sick for us. odom is exactly the kind of player we need after artest is gone someone who puts team first and would love to play for the right reasons.at 6-10 he would be a great fit next to o'neal and would def help our rebs per game george would be a good pick up too but i doubt he will have any long term place in the team i could see him and freddie being packaged away. for a good Center!
NO way do I want to get rid of alvin, hwne he's back he'll be a useful player and look at all he's done for the raptors. I just dont see the benefit of the raptors doing this deal, they give away Rose for contract relief, for only Devean George and Austin Croshere or Scot Pollard?
Hate the trade. If the Lakers can somehow keep Lamar Odom and still get Artest and Rose that will be good. But if we have to trade Odom I dont think the trade is worth doing.
