In an effort to revamp the lounge, and share an interesting story, I thought this thread would be kinda cool.

So around 3 or 4 AM 2 days ago (or technically yesterday), some guy was driving, and was coming into my neighbors driveway, I guess he came into it too hard, or was drunk (probably not -- but you never know), anyways, he slammed into this tree since my window is close to this tree I heard it and woke up. I ran to my window, to see something that should've been shocking and scary, but I couldn't contain my laughter -- the Christmas lights of my neighbors house began coiling and falling off the roof and wherever else it was, and they were flashing randomly, bulbs busting -- it was like a light show! In my rush to see the "show" I knocked over half my computer junk and nearly killed my printer.. but it was well worth it.

I returned to my slumber, pretty amused, and when I woke up my internet wasn't working, but everyone elses was. I thought the car crashing, tree branches swinging, lights falling, etc., knocked out my cable box, so I went and checked. Sure enough, everything was fine. But that didn't explain why my interenet wasn't working and everyone elses was. So I sat there messing with the box, angering those on the internet, I even called some of my friends and cousins over to check it out.. but no one knew the problem. Anyways, at 11:04 PM yesterday (No internet makes you more aware of the time [IMG] ), I dropped my cell phone under my computer desk, and there it was .. my cable wire unplugged.

In my rush to see the light show I knocked down my mouse, keyboard, and printer, I probably also clipped the cable cord and pulled it out of the socket. Now I cannot help but laugh at that, but man. . . I feel dumb. [IMG]

Anyways, anyone have any funny experiences to share?

This isn't funny but it was one of the greatest moments of my life. A couple of months ago my nephew went to a bday party of some girl in his class named Lola McGrady. At first, I was skeptical of if it was McGrady's daughter, but I still drove him there and nevertheless it was his. His fiance was pregnant as usual and he was in basketball shorts and a rockets shirt. It turns out that he was suffering through the tendinitis and wanted to be as comfortbale as possible so he could make the party a success. I wanted to be something creative if i talked to him so I go up to him and say Thanks for being my Inspiration and hes like haha Alot of kids come up to me and say stuff but that has to be the most thought out. He asked if I wanted to stick around and I gladly said yes. He lives in a subdivison named SweetWater in sugarland, tx. I got a pictures, got to shoot around with him to the extent that he was able, and talked about his high school career which is remarkable compared to mine right now. The party bags consisted of an addidas bottle, addidas cap, a Tmac rubber wrist band, and a bunch of candy.

Mag that has happened to me to. It happened when I was sleeping and my bed was a little to the side so I wake up trying to push it in, but it won't go so i reach my hand down their and think one of my little brothers toys were in the so i pull it and through it on the floor. I wake up and the internet isn't working so I'm calling the DSL people, but they have no answer so I realize that I unplugged the cable thing where you put the cables into and then you plug that into the outlet. I get it to work finally and I come back to my fantasy team which for 3 days had Yao, j o neal, and billups on the bench.

Yeah, T-mac lives in Sweetwater - he has a beautiful house. He doesn't live too far from me, we see him at the mall a lot. Extremely nice guy. Calvin Murphy lives close to Sweetwater as well. David Carr lives over here too, Beyonce and Roger Clemens live on the outskirts of Sugarland. Apparently, Yao is looking at houses here too -- which is cool because my dad is a realtor .. who knows, maybe Yao uses him! [IMG] [IMG]

Rich kids. Doesn't Cynthia Cooper live in Sugarland too? Sounds like a rich area to me.

    TmacGarnett, show us the pictures.

I've seen Matt Bonner on the bus once. He still doesn't own a car.

Lola...layla is basically the same [IMG] O well. I'll try to go to Kinkos and get them scanned. I got one of those busty old printers that is only a printer.

Wasn't Bonner just given a pretty big contract?

When I was in China I ended up finding out that I had lived a block away from Yao, and my dad went to the same school.

Then today, my dad shows me this PUBLISHED book on the wealthiest families in Shanghai, and to my surprise my family (specifically my great grandfather) was in it.

    Too bad I'm poor.

chineseafro, my grandfather's family was ultra-rich in Beijing up till the 60's. His father was the number 2 engineer on a team that designed the first railroad in China or something. He had 200 or so houses which he rented out, but during the 60's under Mao, all his property was taken away. He ended up getting beaten to death in his own house by the Red Guards. Then my grandparents moved to Singapore and that was that. Right now I heard my aunts in Beijing are peititioning to seek compensation from the Chinese govt. It'd be cool if we can get some money out of it.

    And yeah, I'm poor too.

Yeah but mom's side was relatively well off. They owned several boating companies and actually prior to that sold opium in the shops during the whole English thing. After that, it pretty much went down hill when Mao took over. My grandpa was actually a well known professor at Zhang Shan University and was beaten by the Red Guards. Plus they disgraced him publicly and practically robbed them of everything.

Damn bastards. Oh and I'm middle class.

My mom's side of the family were the governors of a chinese province. Apparently they boasted that they had a wealth that would never run out.

    Mao made it run out...

As far as funny goes I don't really remember too much specifically. I do however, remember recently I walked into a Quiznos which didn't even have its grand opening yet and tried to order a six inch sub.

Let me put it this way.

I'd take George Bush as a dictator over Mao.

He's too stupid to be able to rape and pillage an entire nation.

I'll take Singapore over China anyday, although China is an intriguing place for me. I love going there for the food and the cheap stuff.
