<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Florida Today - Orlando Magic owner Rich DeVos was making the rounds in the locker room recently and before center Tony Battie could offer his greetings, DeVos cut him off.

"We have to talk this summer, right?" DeVos said to a shocked Battie.

The question was in reference to Battie's pending free agency. Battie said that he desperately wants to re-sign with the Magic because he is happy with his teammates and he has grown to love Central Florida. But he also pointed out that DeVos' devotion to his players is also a strong selling point in wanting to return to the Magic.

"I've played for four different teams and I've never had an owner like Mr. DeVos, who comes around and talks to you the way he does," Battie said. "He'll sit down and talk to you like a neighbor, and not just about basketball. He invites you to his house. I had never been to any other owner's house, but he let us come to his house and look all around. He talks to you about managing money and that's something different."</div>
We need to draft somebody else to play the post with Dwight. Not these older guys.

I have a feeling that Battie will be here next year since Cato's contract expires after this season. Cato has had injury problems and I think he will be one that let go or trade at some point this year. Whether or not Battie will be starting is a different issue but I think he will be on our roster come next season barring some injury or problem with the team. I agree that we need to draft a big so that we can have our future set. We already have youth at every position except center and small forward it is imperative that we acquire some new guys at those spots.

Yeah we need a 3 spot and another post to help out Dwight, if we could pull a trade to get 2 1st rounders.

Or if our draft pick this year decides to come.....

I hope Battie stays, he's been one of our better players during this homestand. I just don't want to give him a lot of money.

If Battie can continue to perform like he did last night, he will be Orlando next season for sure. 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks is great numbers and he was a big reason we won that game last night.
