<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The News Tribune - The SuperSonics and Denver Nuggets are discussing a trade that would send Ronald ?Flip? Murray to Denver and bring former Sonics guard Earl Watson to Seattle, sources said Wednesday.

It is unclear if a trade will be consummated because the Nuggets (14-15) are talking with other teams in an attempt to upgrade a roster that many ? including coach George Karl ? predicted would win the Northwest Division.

Sonics general manager Rick Sund could not be reached for comment.

The Sonics would have to include several other players to complete a deal because Murray earns $895,000. Under terms of the collective bargaining agreement, the salaries of players traded must be within 15 percent of each another. Watson, who signed a five-year, $29 million deal this summer, earns $5 million this season.

If the Sonics put together an offer of Murray, Mikki Moore, Rick Brunson and Mateen Cleaves or Reggie Evans, they could get close to the total needed to complete a deal for Watson, who left the Sonics via free agency in 2002.</div>

This makes a lot of sense since the Nuggets definently need another small guard. [IMG]

Its not like Watson is going to get any burn behind Miller and Boykins. The Nuggets DO NEED a shooting guard and Murray has alot of talent for not alot of dollars. I think its a good trade.

It makes sense because the Nuggets need a shooting guard. Murray is a shooting guard that can score, which is what the the Nuggets need. They would prefer one that can shoot, but your not going to get one as talented as Murray that can shoot with Watson and a injured Nene as your trade bait.

I dont think Murray would fit well in Denver...he's a volume shooter, and that will eventually clash with players like Melo, Boykins, and Martin...I would think that Denver could get more (though not much more) for Watson...

Watson would welcome a trade to Seattle according to this article.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rocky Mountain News - Earl Watson would have no problem with a homecoming.

Seattle has talked to the Denver Nuggets about acquiring Watson, who played his rookie season of 2001-02 with the SuperSonics.

And Memphis, where Watson played from 2002-05, is looking for a point guard after losing Damon Stoudamire to a season-ending knee injury.

"I can't control where I go," said Watson, Denver's third point guard, who has been the subject of much trade talk. "If I go back to any team that I played for, it's all great situations for me as far as with management and with coaches. I never burned any bridges."

The Sonics have much interest in Watson, who signed a five-year, $29 million deal in September. Watson said the Sonics were the first team to call him when he became a free agent, dialing him up at 12:01 a.m. on July 1.

"I've got a lot of respect (for the SuperSonics)," Watson said. "I really owe that organization. They kind of paved the way for me. Any teams that drafts you and you play a lot your rookie year, you just owe them. It's kind of like a beginning. . . . You just respect them for that.''</div>

Earl Watson would be solid for the Sonics, they dont have a decent backup to Ridnour right now. Flip could fill the 2 gaurd need here in Denver, and it would be a win-win both ways. Flip would gradually get the nod to start over Dermarr Johnson, because Dermarr isnt the player he was before his accident.
