http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports...kn/3551322.html (It is at the very bottom) Sorry I don't know to much about Forums codes, but basically were signing this guy pending a waiver or trade sending a two for one. He is averaging 17 pts and 6 rebounds in CBA and looks to join the team. I personally am tired of all these new CBA players coming to play. I'm starting to think CD is trying to pull a miracle out like last year.
Since Davis played in Philly last year, maybe AznxBaller can give us some insight into his game? I wonder why we went after another undersized power forward though. What this team needs right now is a center and Davis's rebounding numbers don't look like he can be a solid one. Swift has also been crap at center, so Lonny Baxter, also 6-8, might have to back Deke up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting tr@cy&ya0:</div><div class="quote_post">this is supid.... cd has to make a trade.. not sign some cba guy...</div> Haha...no offense, but it is funny how your talking about stupidity and spelled the word wrong.
I think he will be another Pagget,he can shoot the threes. And yeah,i think trade is on the way, there is no point to have so many undersized PFs.
The only way we can do this is if we do a two for 1 trade. It looks like he might play the 3, but a possible trade intrigues me because a two for 1 eaither means a good player that can contribute right when he comes or a player that has a big contract.
No, we can sign Davis straight up without waiving anyone to free up a roster spot. The league has granted us an injury exception and I believe that Davis will sign an unguaranteed contract.
Why would you go out and sign another undersized powerforward when you have the in lonny baxter already instead of going out to sign a center. Why not go and take maurice baker a pg in cba whose stats at least look like hes domianting the league. his stats are like 25/5/8 and a pg or why not go after or get center for a second round pick like jamal sampson. a guy with atheletic ability some blocks i guess but no playint time wit kinds one game two min this year. Why get a guy that won't help out at center probably not reoubnd too well and a spot up shooter when you can get a better one in maybe a guy like wang zhizhi but wang would probably be in dog house in houston cuz of his D. I think somethings up i heard that a deal is on the table but houston is waiting for certain of its players to get better so the team will not be with out a player in that position after trade.

yah come to think of it yah wangz defence was horrible i jus saw a tape of him and man he was jus lettin people walk by him. i dunt think it would strain the relation with china though since we have yao and has done so much for him
josh davis won't help us.... i mean come on... wat do we need? we need someone like bowen except that he can shoot those mid range shots... josh davis.. is not who we;re looking for at all...
actually maybe they are aquiring josh davis from a trades prospective. maybe in the trade they are about to do they have lonny baxter going or stromile or bown maybe they are using josh davis as a insurance policy incase something happens to howard but hey maybe even howard is on the hot seat.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Since Davis played in Philly last year, maybe AznxBaller can give us some insight into his game? </div> Gladly . Davis is what you would expect him as- an undersized powerforward. However, his game is slightly different from that of Baxter's. Davis is a less of a rebounder, but still provides the same hustle and energy that any player from the CBA brings. However, the big thing that makes him unique is his shooting. Unlike Bowen, Davis can very well shoot and he actually shoots surprisingly well some nights. In other words, he's a streak shooter. Its really hard to count on him game to game, but it actually might work out for us since he could make teams pay for double teaming McGrady. It gives us another man to dish out to when McGrady's in trouble. Last season he was used a lot by Jim O'Brien (Philly's coach last year who liked run and gun) and did somewhat well enough to give him some playing time. I'm not the biggest fan of his since the last thing we need is an undersized powerforward, but it might work out if he can thrive under Van Gundy's defensive system.
Here's the name of a player the Rockets should go after ... Arvydas Macijauskas from the New Orleans Hornets. He's not getting any burn because of JR Smith, but he can flat out shoot the ball. He will make a defense pay for double teaming Yao or TMac. He moves well without the ball, and is money at the charity stripe. He hasn't been happy about his playing time and wants a chance to get more consistent minutes.

I'm not too high on him though; Barry is a siimilar player who costs much less. When the Rockets get everyone back, we'll be fine at the wing spot. What is needed though are solid post guys, and it looks like Howard and Swift are both inconsistent.

Perfect Role player. He would do wonders in Houston. I'd love for Miami to pick him up.
Rockets Release Stephen Graham I saw it on espn.. they realesed him and signed Josh Davis i'll try to get a link asap
