MATCHUP BREAKDOWN

Ben Wallace v Zydrunas Ilgauskas– We all know Ben Wallace’s strength is his tenacity on defence. We all know this, yet still nobody seems to find a way of getting around this. Matching up with Shaq, he took 14 boards, leaving O’Neal with just 6. Ilgauskas has a soft touch around the basket, but I expect Wallace to thwart that attack so expect the Lithuanian to have a tough and rather unproductive game.
Rasheed Wallace v Drew Gooden – Rasheed is really showing his ability to shoot from outside, with 44% shooting (9th in the League) on 122 attempts (19th in the League) from downtown. Drew Gooden needs to make a lot f his shots to stand a chance here, and I think that Rasheed should be able to stop the threat.
Tayshaun Prince v LeBron James – Prince was named to the All-Defensive second team last season, yet I don’t think he can do much to stop the twenty one year-old superstar LeBron James. LeBron is showing that he can take you inside and outside, and, though I think it will be an excting matchup to watch, I think there can only be one winner; LeBron.
Rip Hamilton v Larry Hughes – Hamilton is in top form at the moment and, whilst playing pretty well, Larry Hughes is still looking for the form he showed last year that made him a priority for the Cavs in the off-season. If Hughes can come up big, he could prevail against Rip.
Chauncey Billups v Eric Snow – Mr Big Shot, as they call Billups, is looking in fine form having recently hit a game winning shot and dished a career high 19 assists. Albeit Snow has just made a season high 12 points, but I really don’t think Snow could come close to Billups here.
