Contact above the shoulders, when deemed to be intentional, generally results in a suspension of one or two games. </div>

    NOOOOOOOOO!!

That's bullshit, ok, you should fine him, but not suspend him.

He's taken 4 cheap shots the past couple weeks and finally said enough is enough.

Man...... is Kobe gonna be pissed when he returns.......

Hang in there Kob, we're gonna be by your side through all of this.

Lets see how the team plays without Kobe. I'm looking forward to it...maybe someone can step up and carry-on that confidence into the rest of the season.

I'm also actually looking forward to the next game. Even without Kobe the Lakers are playing the Jazz at home, which should not be a difficult game. I'm really looking forward to see how Odom produces as the leader, because he's on my last nerve after the last hand full of games. I'm especially looking forward to seeing how Kwame does in his first game without Kobe. With Kobe out there should be plenty of more touches for everyone, and this could end up helping the team. We really need to know what we can expect from the others, because Odom will not cut it as a 2nd option.

I saw that game and when i saw what kobe did i was suprised he wasn't ejected from the game, the fact that he bragged about it afterwards and that he admitted it was intentional in an interview obviously didn't help, he got what he deserved that type of move could have really messed up miller.

That's when Kobe has to be the bigger man and keep his poise and retaliate with his game. Iverson got 7 stickes last season and got a hip contusion in that game game but he didn't take any cheap shots. What about Shaq, he probably gets more beat up then AI or Wade but he never throw any elbows. If Kobe wanted to be physical he just have just commit a hard foul not bluntly attack the man with no intentions of going for the ball or anything.

    Agreed.

Why should he not be suspended if he purposely cheap shotted another player? I cant believe that no one on the Grizz even swung at him...

Firstly, Shaq gives as much as he takes. Secondly, different players like to do things differently. Perhaps now people know that when they try to intentionally hurt Kobe, their going to get a few elbows to the face. This should put a stop to the beatings he's been getting. He shouldn't have really done the elbow if Miller's was unintentional, but he maybe sending a message to people who do attack him on purpose.

Comments like that are the reasons why they are Kobe haters and make people seem like Kobe haters.

The suspension is warranted, but the league has to be consistent with these rulings. If Kobe is getting suspended for his elbow then the league needs to suspend Josh Howard, Mike Miller, Dwyane Wade, and anyone else who's throwing intentional elbows. How about the elbow Shaq gave Kwame in his throat in the XMas game? Not only was Shaq's elbow intentional, it was also very dangerous. I'm sure his arm weighs a good 30lbs, so imagine getting hit in the throat with a 30lb dumbell.

It's not right for the league to single out players and turn the other way on everyone else. The league has to go back and review what lead up to the elbows and then hand out the suspensions accordingly. Kobe probably deserves an extra game suspension, so slap him with two, and slap Miller with one.

hey whatever helps you sleep at night, bro.

I know I don't go on Sixers page and hate on AI, cuz dude is a baller, wish people would have the same mutual respect for Kobe.

You guys act like he's screwed your girlfriend or something, let the mans balls breathe for real.

He gets suspended and people jump for joy and say he had it coming and all that, but whatever.

It's officially a two game suspension, so he'll miss both Utah games (Sunday&Tuesday). Bryant will lose $144,971.59 in salary for each game he sits out.

You make no sense at all. It's not like I'm disrespecting his game or anything. Members like shape could be a witness as to me saying that Kobe is the most talented player in the league. I've said things like his game is flawless and the only thing he needs work on is his leadership. So get your facts straight. All I'm saying is that he deserved to get suspended after what he did. I agree with shape that if he gets suspended so should guys like Howard, Shaq and so on, but for the most part Miller accidentally hit him and Kobe retaliated and as much as it was tempting to he shouldn’t have, but so he did, so he got suspended. That's all. You Kobe fans are so juvenile that's it's unbelievable. I'm a fan of Artest but after he attacked those people in the Palace I even thought he should have got suspended, but that doesn't make me a hater? No. I'm just saying it as it is. If AI gets knocked down hard and and comes back later in the game almost injures a guy he to should get suspended. And like a member in this thread said, after Kobe bragged about it, it only made matters worse. He was begging for a suspension. The NBA is all about "image" now a days and what kind of image would he be sending if he' saying that he purposely attacked another player.

Well, I guess it's a good thing they're both against Utah, they're a good team, but I wouldn't say we're completely down and out, I really want to see who's gonna step up these next two games.

How will the triangle work now that Kobe isn't in the picture?

Avery, my apologies bro, the comment wasn't directed towards you exactly, I'm sure you're not exactly a "Kobe hater" but there are plenty around and it gets frustrating after a while having to back up your favorite player.

    Let's just drop it, thanks.

I'm pretty sure he will just be on the sidelines and put on the inactive list for those two games. He should where an old school Public Enemy tshirt for those two games since he's public enemy #1 with the league now.

Well the Triangle will have to change a little and Odom will likely play Kobe's role. I imagine Devean George will be in the starting lineup with Kobe out and the Lakers will need everyone to step up to win these two games. Utah has a bad record, but they aren't a cake walk team. The Lakers cannot afford to lose both these games, I'm hoping for at least a split.

Shape, I was thinking about it, I don't even think he'll be allowed in the building.

Artest, for example, wasn't allowed to be there at the Indiana games when he was suspended, no?
