<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Someone whose identity I will not reveal for his own protection decided that it was time to trot Kwame Brown back out in his fantasy-basketball starting lineup Wednesday. Rather comically, Brown did not play at all in the first quarter while Chris Mihm was hot and then did not post any statistics for much of the second quarter except turnovers. But Phil Jackson knows he must get more out of Brown, which is why Brown is supposed to get shaken out of his comfort zone Friday and Saturday in practice, when Jackson starts running Brown at power forward again. Since returning from his hamstring injury on Dec. 10, Brown has played center, because it?s the simplest position in the triangle offense. Brown has concluded that he has no business playing outside the lane in the triangle, because he can't shoot from out on the wing. Frankly, he has yet to show he can shoot from the lane or the free-throw line. So he's not altogether wrong that he is better suited to playing center for the Lakers. But there are going to be times in the playoffs -- yes, the Lakers fully intend to be there, despite this three-game skid -- where Jackson needs Brown to defend a big power forward. It'll be interesting to see if Brown reacts to this situation with any desire whatsoever for more playing time. Unlike about every basketball player on the planet, Brown is not eager to play, which might just be the real problem behind everything.</div> Source The last sentence is disturbing. I think it might be time for the Lakers to start giving someone who is very eager to play more burn ... Andrew Bynum. I think once Turiaf is in game shape, he's going to take all of Kwame's minutes away and Kwame will fade into obscrurity on this team.
Wow. Why did we give Caron Butler away for this piece of trash. Send him back to high school. Andrew is upset that he isn't getting minutes. I say we throw him in their for a couple of games while Kobe is out and see how he gets on. If he steps up while Kobe is out, we know he is ready for sure.
I think everyone thought that with a new change of scenery that maybe Kwame would show why he was a #1 pick. Kwame could still change if he wanted to. But at the moment Atkins and Caron are definitely more valuable than Kwame. I thought this year Caron could have developed into a solid scoring option beside Kobe.
Uh..I might've missed something, but where did Kwame say he didn't want to play? The Kwame Brown I've been watching the past week or two has been playing hard, playing solid defense, and rebounding.

He is content being Mihm's backup at this point. In contrast most players would jump at the opportunity to play as a starter. Kwame has been playing hard lately, but I think PJax wants him to find the competitive spirit within himself. Kwame needs to rock the fro again, I watched some clips when he was with the Wizards, he plays with more enthusiasm when he goes with the fro.
Kwame needs to put up more, I still liked him till now. He was alright at the start of the season before his injury but wasnt consistent. Im starting to think Brian Cook can be more of a factor than Kwame Brown. I just hope Ronny Turiaf starts tearing it up in the CBA so the Lakers can bring him in, and he could do something that Kwame isnt doing.
You can't really complain about Kwame's play. He's not given a chance to get in the offensive flow of the game because he's never given the ball with time on the shotclock to operate. His defense has helped us out a lot. He has altered countless numbers of shots and he's had a presence. He affected Shaq in the game against the Heat. He gives us defense and rebounding, that's good enough for now.
