<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">One of the dozens of rumors involving Pacers forward Ron Artest is a trade to Miami for Antoine Walker. It's unlikely because the Pacers wouldn't want Walker's long-term contract, but from all the booing going on at the Heat's home games, it sounds like Miami's fans would approve such a deal. Walker was booed Tuesday while hitting 2-of-10 shots and committing four turnovers against Milwaukee, and was cheered when he was sent to the bench for Udonis Haslem. Walker had no reaction to the fan reaction. "I'm going to be here until (coach and team president Pat Riley) decides to move me, so you're going to have deal with me," he said. "But trying to boo me or stuff like that, that doesn't bother me. I played in Boston, so I've seen the worst."</div> http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...ng_out_welcome/
No chance in hell that would happen. Not only is Walker horrible compared to Artest, but Miami is in the same conference and they could very well meet in the playoffs. Larry Bird isn't going to help out a fellow rival team and give Artest a chance to bite them in the ass.

They know that Artest is a great player but many teams are scared of his attitude. As far as Artest never going to an Eastern Conference team, this was discussed by Larry Bird. He said Ron could go to an Eastern Conference team and that they are looking at what the teams are offering rather then the conference their in. At this point this is just a rumor but it isn't as crazy and you make it sound.
I agree with Swish in that this deal may be as close to equal talent that the Pacers could be getting for Artest...Larry Bird has always had an infatuation with Walker so this rumor does have some backbone...
Artest for Walker? 'Toine is not half the player Artest is. I dont think he'll play in the same confrence either.

Walker is not the kind of player Indiana needs (chucker, no defense). And yes, it is crazy. I think we all know this trade won't happen.
Walker, in my opinion is slow he can't run up and down the court. This trade would put the Heat on top of the conference above the Pistons. Imagine in the Eastern Finals, Heat with Artest, Shaq, Wade against Pistons with both Wallace's, Billups and Rip. it gonna be hell and create a rivalry.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Swish15:</div><div class="quote_post">http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...ng_out_welcome/</div> why even bother posting such an insane rumour?? dont u read it and think ........nah thats BS they`ll never take walker and wont send artest to a conference rival donnie walsh has already said that they want young players/picks and artest has stated he wants to go somewhere he can get a lot of shots..........miami and walker fit neither goddamn you for making me waste energy replying to this topic....
Horrible trade scenario for Indiana... Until Walker proves that he can play good defense, tone down his shot selection, and shoot at a decent percentage. I wouldn't want him.
I think you guys are under estimating Antoine Walker, he was putting up fantastic stats last season for Atlanta, Artest is a great defender and an inconsistant offensive player, I think Walker for Artest would be a fair trade, but like most of you, dont see it happening.
Antwoine Walker can just score. He isn't a shooter and he lacks defense and speed and that isn't what the Pacers are about.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post">Walker is shooting 41.5% on his career, not bad for some one who cant shoot.</div> what exactly isnt bad about a forward that shoots in the low 40 percentile. Thats horrid AND he doesnt play D!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NTC187:</div><div class="quote_post">Walker is shooting 41.5% on his career, not bad for some one who cant shoot.</div> Hes not a shooter hes a scorer theres a big difference.
I cannot imagine Indiana making any trade with a potential roadblock in the post season for them. Antoine Walker and his contract will do more harm for the Heat now and long term.
If pacers get airball walker, then they have just put themselves towards the Dark Side May the force be with you, pacers
