I dont think that the Hornets are willing to give up JR Smith, and thats the only thing IMO that would really attract the pacers, a young prolific scorer. No one else is good enough to go for Ron Artest, so I dont think that the Hornets have a real good chance of making it in the Ron-Ron sweepstakes.

Desmond Mason is the kind of the guy the Pacers would probably like. He's a good defensive player, can give you 15 a night, and knows his role on a team. Speedy Claxton can be the guy that the Pacers want for insurance in case Tinsley gets injured again, Kirk Snyder is another youngster who is pretty good defensively, and Macijauskas gives the Pacers another outside shooter.

JR Smith isn't the only tradeable piece the young Hornets have.

I'm not sure about Ron Ron in a Hornets uniform.

My infatuation with CP3 has seen me watching a lot of Hornets games and i really like the character of the club.
Chris Paul is a classy guy and is making this club follow his style.

As much as i'd love to see CP3 and Ron Ron playing together i don't know if it'd be a good match given Ron's history.

The Hornets have a decent foundation and apparently fairly good chemistry.
The team has got to be making money or at least generating cash flow with
Chris Paul. The team should have Paul on the banner as the team's leader and identity, and bringing in a player of uncertain fame who has the potential to detract from the team's accomplishments could stunt the progress the team has made. I say let the Hornets continue to build over the next three years. They should be in pretty good draft position next year to build the frontline and their defense. Let Artest go to LA.

the reason the hornets are so improved is because they got rid of all the bad seeds. Now if they could just do something with PJ Brown- 8 million a yr: he is ROBBING them!!!

I agree with most Hornet and basketball fans that the improvement is primarily the leadership of Chris Paul. Shedding big contracts when the player fails to produce is energizing, but Brown actually makes his presence felt in the lane; and one of his jobs is to protect their franchise player.

I don’t know about you guys, but I don’t want to see Ron Artest any where near my boy Chris Paul. The Hornets have a good young squad that as it continues to develop will be a force to contend with. They have no need to bring in Artest, would it make them a contender? Probably not, would it make them a playoff team? Probably, but I would rather protect my long term investment, and think about success for several years over success during a short period.

I'm tired of seeing a thread in every team forum for every FA or person on the trading block when there is no chance of it happening. You don't have anyone that the Pacers would want.

Know this, whatever team Artest goes to will be much improved. He didn't play last season and he hasn't played this season. He's hungry and he's had plenty of rest.

i agree! i dont want to see artest on this young up and coming team. The guy is nothing but a distraction. As far as PJ Browm, Im definately going to have to disagree- he is as average as average gets. I had courtside seats to the hornets for 2 1/2 yrs and have watched this averageness first hand!!!

The Hornets are way too young to have a leader like Ron Artest on the floor with them. They don't need to see an attitude minded leader. They're doing just fine with PJ Brown being their leader. PJ Brown is a great mentor for this team.
