<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Two days after his benching in the Bulls' overtime loss to Phoenix, Michael Sweetney still was slightly perplexed and disgruntled.

"I'm a little upset, yeah," said Sweetney, who had started 21 games but never left the bench Saturday night. "You're used to playing and then when you don't, it breaks your routine. Other than that, you have to root for your team to win and be ready whenever your name is called."

Sweetney said he received no explanation from the coaches, but he guessed mistakes in practices last week had something to do with his absence.

Coach Scott Skiles said he didn't play Sweetney because matchups didn't favor the 6-foot-8-inch, 270-pound forward. He added that poor play in practice also was a factor, but a secondary one.

"I didn't go into the game with the intention that he wasn't going to play," Skiles said.

Skiles put Sweetney in against the Bucks with 3 minutes 47 seconds left in the first quarter. With seven seconds left in the first, Sweetney departed with two fouls. He finished with seven points and nine rebounds in 16 minutes.

Anyone ever notice how Sweetney likes to take these hook shots down low and he misses every single time? It was especially smart of him to take that shot in the last minutes of the game against the Bucks. I also liked how he missed those two freethrows at the end of the game. I think Sweetney is terrible and I would be happy to see him for only a couple minutes each game. But we have to use him because of his height so I guess we're stuck with him getting some playing time.

I actually really like Sweetney. I did not like him the role we used him in, when he started. We asked a undersized power forward to be our main offensive option down low. Let’s get it straight right now as good as Sweetney can be, right now he is no Elton Brand, Skiles has to recognize what he was asking from this kid. I did not like the fact we benched him against the Suns either I think he could have been a lot better of an option than Nocioni. I think having him backup Deng is probably the best role for him.
