    Like Mel said in the Lakers forum, they Pacers are very conciencious or however you spell it about there cap situation, why would they take Murphy's contract?

    That's what I thought but Bucher reported later last night the Pacers asked for Murphy and Mullin refused. Goes against everything Walsh said but I guess they just really like Murphy. It'll be interesting to see what deal finalizes.

    Name any realistic deal that is better than this one. I know the Pacers don't want any long term deals but what better options do the Pacers have? They may just have to take the best offer they can, at least with this trade they get some good players who can help them now and in the future. Murphy has become a player that you can give the ball to and he can score, hes not a #1 option but he'll work as a second option and hes pretty good for a third option. Murphy's makes 10 million a year (only 7 and a half this year) which is a pretty fair price for a double-double guy, especially a big man who are rarely signed to "market value".
