<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jeff McInnis has been the odd man out during the eight-game winning streak, but he still believes he can make an impact on this Nets team and he is still practicing hard. It's supposed to be mind instead of might.
At least it's good to see McInnis being mature about the situation. All good teams are well-rounded, and I really don't see the Nets having a chance to beat the Pistons, Heat, Cavs, or Pacers (if they're healthy) in the playoffs unless we get a quality big(or two or three) in a trade.
Yah we need 2 trade Jeff McInnis for a big man that can produce in the paint I like Nened Kristic but he can't score in the paint.
me personally...i think were better than the Pacers right now (pending on who they get for Artest) and we have Cavs number for awhile now..the Heat imo are overhyped...but Shaq is still Shaq and its always difficult to beat any team he's on..the Pistons...they are light years ahead of us... but right now im confindent enough in my Nets to say we will make it to the Eastern Conference finals... as far as McInnis goes..i rather put him on the inactive list and potentially give some minutes to Wright...McInnis just needs to be traded...im hoping we can part with him and get a big man...but if not...i would trade him for a 2nd rounder..
McInnis alone wont give us much as far as getting something positive in return during a trade....the best we can ask for is getting a solid bigman by packaging McInnis, Planinic and a pick together...a team might bite on that. But I dont think there is much interest around the league just for Jeff McInnis. His stock was already low coming into the year, after his conduct with Cleveland during the end of last season. And all his stock has done in a Nets uniform is drop even lower. He is no spring chicken at 30 years old, he isnt really a playmaking point guard...so I really cant think of someone who would be interested in just him. I personally dont see him getting traded for that reason...and when you start packaging players deals can get complicated, so what the Nets would get in return still probably wouldnt be much. I see Rod just sticking with McInnis and Coach Frank is probably going to give him a another chance at cracking the rotation in the 2nd half of the year. It might not be at point guard though, Jeff might be used off the ball in situations where the Nets could use his scoring ablity...because as the season gets deeper and closer to the playoffs, New Jersey is going to have to find more scorers then just Jefferson, Carter, Krstic and Kidd, if they want to go deep.
