<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SALT LAKE CITY - He hasn't closely followed the progress of forward Ronny Turiaf in the Continental Basketball Association, but Lakers coach Phil Jackson said Tuesday not to rule out the possible signing of Turiaf in the next week. Turiaf, who is attempting a comeback after undergoing heart surgery in July, is averaging 9.3 points and 5.3 rebounds in four games with the CBA's Yakama (Wash.) Sun Kings. All contracts for the NBA season become guaranteed on Tuesday. The Lakers would have to waive or trade a player to make room on their roster for Turiaf. Asked about ruling out the signing of Turiaf before that Jan. 10 deadline, Jackson said: "Don't assume anything. There's a possibility, yeah. But we have seven days, a week to go." Jackson said he hadn't been getting progress reports on Turiaf, a second-round draft pick of the Lakers. But Jackson did notice as Turiaf totaled 17 points and nine rebounds in 19 minutes in his second game with Yakama. "That says something about his conditioning," Jackson said. "He's not going to be in any shape to play basketball yet for a while. But it's a matter of a period of time." The Lakers could do anything in signing Turiaf from reaching an injury settlement with guard Laron Profit, out for the season after rupturing an Achilles' tendon, to waiving rookie Devin Green. Turiaf's agents did not return calls Tuesday. </div> Source
Great to hear man. I'd prefer Turaif to get to full health though. get everything working first man. You already know the Laker fans and team love ya!
