Cavaliers general manager Danny Ferry said that one or two screws would be inserted in the joint area of Hughes' right long finger to close the fracture. The surgery will be done in Cleveland later this week. "We've done tests on the injury all year," Ferry said. "It just started to flare up. We're anxious to get him back at 100 percent." The 26-year-old guard, who signed with Cleveland before the start of the season, is the team's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points and 3.9 assists. He started the first 28 games for the Cavaliers before missing Wednesday night's game at Milwaukee. Damon Jones started in Hughes' spot.</div> Source: ESPN Damon Jones starting at SG? Damn, they might have to go with lbj at the 2 but who would play the better starting 3 gooden or marshall? Gooden did play the 3 in orlando but he sucked.
As someone who watched Donyell a lot in Toronto and loved his game, and his character. I don't think 'Yell is quick enough for SFs. He can slide over to center and hold his ground decently there, but he isn't agile enough for SFs. I would guess that maybe give Gooden some minutes at SF, maybe Luke Jackson some there too. As well Snow can defend SG for a while like he used to in Phili.
It was only a matter of time until Larry Hughes got injured. I don't know why he's so injury prone. These things can just happened to anyone (broken finger) and it happens to him. I think he was out last week for an extended time for the same injury. Poor Larry.
As P.A.P said, Larry is very injury prone. It was only a matter of time until he was injured. He was injured every season in Washington, and that hurt the Wizards. I hope it doesn't hurt the Cavs.
You can always count on Hughes missing at least 20 games a season for you. This was the reason I felt the Cavs overpaid him during the offseason because Hughes is injury prone. I think the Cavs will be fine without him, but it could hurt them later on in the season if LeBron is forced to do a lot more for this team. They need some of these role players to step now and play consistently while Hughes is out.
Donyell is a PF with Range, thats where he should be played, but like someone mentioned they should play LeBron at SG and bring Luke Jackson in to start at SF. Luke was a lottery pick, but I forgot what injury kept him out in his rookie season, but he will be a good player.
