It was the MJ and scottie connection that took them to six. Magic and Kareem worked well. Kobe and Shaq had a 3 peat. David Robinson and Tim Duncan was a force to be reckoned with. Isiah thomas and Joe Dumars became the Back2Back Bad Boys. Even back in the day with Bill Russell there was John Havilcek along side for the 10 Championships in 11 Years. Jerry West and Wilt Chamberlin made history together. Even in the league today theres some great tandoms. Carter and Kidd, Wade and Shaq, Iverson and Webber, Yao and Tmac. Just to name a few. But who was the best. Who created history together and were an unstoppable force?

Who is the best tandom in the NBA ever?

Stockton and Malone. While they didn't win any rings, they had the best connection of all tandems, in my opinion.

^Agreed, IMO, they did not win a ring, but it was a very hard duo to stop.

Can't forget about Payton and Kemp. They may not have been the best ever, but they were definitely up there. If they had been together longer GP would have kept Shawn in line and they would have won at least a couple rings after MJ was gone.

The Milt jokes are getting kind of old, there's already another thread full of them.

I think that Drexler and Porter is an underrated combo. Same thing goes with Larry Bird and your choice of any of the great players he was with on the Celtics.

By far the greatest tandem ever.

If we have to accept mediocrity, then I suppose

    Malone/Stockton
    Jordan/Pippen
    Magic/Kareem
    Shaq/Kobe

    new one:
    Nash/Amare

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">and the cassell or livingston/brand</div> why do so many people talk about shaun livingston? Has he done/shown/proven anything at all? I dont even recall an impressive game from livingston. Hes got some kind of weird cult following.

stockton and malone were so perfect yet no rings- therefore they cannot be #1. It has to be Michael and Scottie- although you could make the case that MJ made Pippen great (look at his career with the rockets and the blazers afterward)

Look at Pippen's stats when Jordan left for a year.

true- he had a great yr. BUT they got to the 2nd round. The following yr they had dropped- they were battling for the 8th seed before MJ came back. Pippen is not a superstar, but a superstar sidekick. A great great defender and open court player though

They got to the 7th game of the second round, and were sort of screwed by a botched Hugh Hollins call. They very easily could have made it to the Finals that year, actually.
