<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Jameer Nelson already has proved he can finish. Now he wants to prove he can start -- regularly. When the Orlando Magic open their West Coast swing Tuesday night in Los Angeles, Nelson is expected to make his fifth start this season -- but only the second alongside fellow point guard Steve Francis. The first was Saturday night at TD Waterhouse Centre when the Magic pummeled the Charlotte Bobcats. It was an unconventional lineup, but it worked. "Every player in the NBA wants to be a starter,'' Nelson said. "And I'm no exception.'' His opportunity has arrived because of the lingering groin injury to small forward Grant Hill. Instead of going with forward Hedo Turkoglu as Hill's replacement -- which they did early this season -- the Magic went small Saturday, moving shooting guard DeShawn Stevenson to small forward and playing the two point guards together. "It might be something we'll look at again,'' said Magic Coach Brian Hill after the game against Charlotte. "Jameer really helped us. He gives us organization and keeps us going in the right way.'' Nelson had 18 points, seven rebounds and six assists, adding to his recent flurry of good games. In the past five games, but only one as a starter, Nelson has averaged 21.2 points. Even more impressively, though, he has led the Magic this season with 165 fourth-quarter points, even though he is only sixth in minutes played.</div> http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/bask...ports-headlines
31 pts in the 1st quarter against the Bobcats with Jameer and Francis starting is bad enough. Then add in that they didn't have their best player playing. I hope they don't start together much or we are going to lose a lot of ball games because of our poor defense.
