<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Chicago Bulls' two-game winning streak won't put fear in the Pistons - though with Shaquille O'Neal going through the motions in Miami and Larry Hughes injured in Cleveland, the East looks like a mess again. But what those two wins may have done is finally solidified the Bulls' backcourt. Kirk Hinrich never will be Isiah Thomas or John Stockton, but he should be a point guard. And as the Bulls get in position to do something this summer, he needs to be playing point guard as much as possible. Three talented small guards might be a nice luxury for a championship team with an inside presence - such as Thomas' Pistons - but not for the Bulls. Chris Duhon is back where he belongs, playing both guard spots off the bench. Clearly, the plan this season was to pair Ben Gordon with Hinrich. But an early stumble by Gordon left many in the organization questioning whether he was a luxury and they needed to get something for him while his value remained high. He's not an ideal shooting guard at his size. But it was hard to see where the Bulls were going with Duhon at point guard and Hinrich at shooting guard and then small forward. All this suggests - you knew this was coming - that the Bulls should deal Duhon. His presence, because he has proved to be better than anyone thought and has been a reliable guard, only retains the temptation to play him at the expense of Gordon or Hinrich. Jannero Pargo can be that classic sixth-man scorer. Teams can use a quality point guard like Duhon. The Cavs sure can. They never have been thrilled with power forward Drew Gooden and could use a young point guard to develop with LeBron James. The SuperSonics have a couple of big men they're probably ready to deal, Vitaly Potapenko and Reggie Evans, though Duhon is too much to give up for them. The Celtics reportedly tried to push Mark Blount on the Bulls recently for Othella Harrington and Eric Piatkowski. Dan Gadzuric seems a luxury for the Bucks' payroll, the Bobcats' Melvin Ely has been talked about. The Pacers appear to have cooled on Jeff Foster; the Nets' Marc Jackson wants out; the Magic's Kelvin Cato and Tony Battie always are available; the 76ers' Steven Hunter plays like he will be; the Wizards are about ready for a makeover, the Spurs have too many centers; the Clippers' Chris Wilcox can be had; and the Nuggets' injured Nene may be worth someone's risk by next season. Darko Milicic anyone?</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
I'm not sure of his availability but I think someone like Joel Przybilla may fit in perfectly with the Bulls. A big body, can rebound, blocks a lot of shots, and plays solid defense.
gee I wouldnt trade Duhon for awhile yet, who knows what can happen with Gordon. I actually don't want to trade Duhon.
this rumors isnt true. the same guy that wrote this rumor is the same guy that said the bulls should trade gordon which was another stupid rumor now that gordon has started to do better he wants to pick on someone else. plus it wouldnt make since wut if a guard is in foul trouble who do they have pargo? they will be keeping duhon plus duhon cant leave the team until next season the guy that keeps making these rumors name is sam smith if you find rumors from him mostly its not true this is wut the guy looks like lol http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...l=cs-columnists
I agree, there is no need to trade one of their guards. I think the game plan can still be to pair Hinrich and Gordon in the backcourt and have Duhon come off the bench. Duhon is great and I like his intangibles, but he's really not the talent you want as an every day starter. Having the luxury of 3 capable guards is something the Bulls should enjoy. It gives them insurance incase one gets injured and also there isn't a huge dropoff when one goes to the bench. The Bulls have a lot of cap space and draft picks to address their frontcourt problems.
Duhon is great a player and I can see him developing more as a starter on another team. I wouldn't wan't to trade him though and you know Skiles doesn't. he recently just said "it breaks my heart to take Duhon out of that starting position". Duhon must play his ass off in practice or kiss some after but Skiles loves him. One day he'll realize that he's worth something and he'll want to leave Chicago. Until then, utilize his talent as a good man to rotate into the Guards positions.
well no one thought enough of duhon during his last contract to bid against the bulls so duhon had no choice but to come back to chicago. as long as no one wants him we will keep him.
