<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Of all fans, Philly fans should understand the obligation to boo traitors to the organization. Shaq is the Lakers version of Terrell Owens. Both wanted more money and when the ownership said no they whined, felt disrespected, bad mouthed teammates, bad mouthed the organization, and then took their sweet time with minor injuries.

    His-Toe-Ry that's great! [IMG]</div>
Terrell Owens didnt make his team into a dynasty and show his city love at any point.

He showed Philly love, and got them over the hump to make the Superbowl. His contributions weren't anything compared to Shaq, but both share the "pay me more" attitude and burned bridges after they left. Neither left their situations with any grace or class. Both deserve boos, very LOUD boos.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting anubis53:</div><div class="quote_post">I started this thread to organize some "true" Laker fans to show support for your Laker team by boooing Shaq. Shaq was disloyal to the organization. It would be one thing if we cut Shaq because he was old and could not play up to a certain level. Then yeah ok, don't boo Shaq. But, Shaq demanded a trade because he knew the franchise was no longer going to be built around him and it was going to be built around KOBE and he knew KOBE was going to get paid. So he was jealous! He cried to the Lakers that they better pay him and when he knew he wasn't going to make more money then KOBE it got to him. He was traded to Miami and so the disloyalty followed. It makes me sick to hear his stupid comments about the organization and about our franchise player KOBE. Then it made me even more sick when I was at last years Christmas game and he got a standing ovation. (It's not like he was Jordan when he went back to Chicago as a Wizard, also Jordan didn't leave in a bad way) Come on Laker fans he's gone!! He doesn't wear a Lakers uniform anymore. ALL TRUE LAKER FANS ASK YOURSELF THIS QUESTION, DO YOU LIKE THE FACT THAT THE ENTIRE MIAMI ARENA WAS CHANTTING KOBE SUCKS,KOBE SUCKS? (WHEN ANY TRUE BASKETBALL FAN KNOWS HE DOESN'T SUCK) DO YOU THINK THEY WERE CHANTTING KOBE SUCKS BECAUSE HE SUCKS OR DO YOU THINK THEY WERE CHANTTING KOBE SUCKS BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR SHAQ? MIAMI HAS NO REASON TO HATE KOBE!! SO WHY DO YOU THINK THEY CHANT THAT? I KNOW YOU GUYS KNOW KOBE LIKES TO HEAR US CHANT KOBE,KOBE........OR MVP,MVP BUT I THINK JUST FOR THIS GAME HE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR US BOO SHAQ AND SHOW HIM THAT WE SUPPORT HIM AND MOST OF ALL SUPPORT THE LAKER ORGANIZATION FOR THERE MOVE OF GETTING RID OF SHAQ!!</div>

Im a Mature Laker fan. I dont need to boo anyone to know where my loyalty stands. I've been there good and bad. Will be there good or bad. I just want to see my Lakers play. I dont need to stoop down to another team/persons level to know that im TRUE. Nuff Said.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jurassic:</div><div class="quote_post">I actually thought it was because he said that he would "tear AI's heart out in a game of one-on-one". He was booed at the ASG that year, but I don't think Philly was feeling disrespected, they were just supporting AI. Although it's gotta hurt to be named ASG MVP and get booed in your hometwown.

Just a few days before the ASG that year he had his jersey retired at his high school, so he still supports the city.</div>

He didn't say that from what I remember... he said he'd tear Philadelphia's heart out during the Finals... but close enough.

And whoever it was who said I need to learn more about the whole break-up thing (can't remember who it was), read my post. I clearly stated that I didn't know the entire detailed account because I didn't follow it. Obviously Laker fans will know more about it than a Sixer fan. That's natural.

The Lakers can beat the Heat. The last game was close and winable. If the Lakers play smart bball and tough defense, they can win. They have some lingering injuries they are playing through, that might play a factor.

Forget what anyone in this thread says, BOO the hell out of Shaq.

It's about time these "Laker" fans start showing some respect to Kobe.

When I was at the Cavs game, all you see is Kobe jerseys. Let's see some of those fans start supporting the player that they're wearing.

I'm going to be pissed if there's a lot of fans at the Heat/Laker game with a Shaq Laker jersey, that'll be a joke.

I agree with Shape on this one, once he retires, we'll cheer and show respect, till then, HE IS AN ENEMY.

I guarantee if Laker fans show support throughout the game and show Kobe support by chanting "MVP" or boo'ing Shaq, it will make Kobe play a great game. Believe it or not, that kinda stuff matters to a player, esp. Kobe, knowing that LA has his back over Shaq.

If you like Shaq, then don't boo, simple as that, but do not knock other fans by calling them "unloyal" if they boo Shaq. I'm sick and tired of Shaq disrespecting the Lakers and Kobe. "Miami has been the first real team I've been on" You know what? F*@K YOU TOO. And you guys want to support a player like that? What a joke.

Wish I went to that game, REPRESENT US WELL GUYS to whoever's going. Make Shaq uncomfortable and let Kobe know who L.A. sides with.

If you support a player, isn't the way to show support for that player through cheering for him? If I'm going to show I love for my girlfriend I don't do it by swearing at my old girl friend, lol.

I think booing people is just disrespectful, unless you think that booing people in everyday life is acceptable, then why do it to regular people in a basketball game.

I'll admit last year, I was a fool. I would have booed Vince Carter if I were at the game, however I no longer would boo Carter at a Raptors game regardless of the past.

Hmmm... haven't had much experience with the women have you. So if your ex walks up to your current girlfriend and calls her a hoe and tells her you cheated you wouldn't put home girl in her place?!

First off, if my ex-girl is just going to slander my and my girlfriend I think that shows what type of person she is. I'm not going to sink to her level and start slandering her.

Then if I had been honest with my new girlfriend up to that point, she would probably listen to my explanation and value my word more than an angry slandering ex-girlfriend.

My point was, if I want to express love for my new girlfriend it does not have to be at the expense of my ex-girlfriend. This is a pretty tangent conversation lol.

Man we better boo the hell out of shaq. Did you see the look on kobe's face b4 and after the game. Before the game he was so serious and anxious to win. And in the end, he felt all lonely cuz the only person who showed him respect was gary payton. Plzz laker fans, for the sake of kobe, boo shaq. Big time

LOL, on the girlfriend example, that's funny.

    LISTEN GUYS.

WE HAVE HOME COURT ADVANTAGE, understand?

Let's F#@$ING START ACTING LIKE IT.

Stop worrying if you're gonna hurt SHaq's FEELINGS, get over it, the guy is making MILLIONS AND MILLIONS to play the game at his old age, let him wipe his tears with his money for all I care.

What I'm trying to say is, the difference between a Laker victory and a Laker loss is CROWD PARTICIPATION, AT ANY MEANS NECCESSARY.

If that means chanting "MVP" for Kobe, or "BOO'ING" SHaq, THEN SO BE IT.

Quit being wussies, home court advantage is no joke, if we have all the fans participate in the game and really make Miami uncomfortable, I GUARANTEE A LAKER WIN, but they need our help. Kobe needs our help, LAMAR ODOM NEEDS OUR HELP (remember, IT IS his old team)

Forget about "What's right, what's wrong" whether you should boo shaq or not, it's sports man, if you can't Boo a player like Shaq, then what's the point? We all love sports and the Lakers cause it brings excitement to our lives, I know I'll be booing SHaq from Home, there's no doubt about it.

You know, I don't hate SHaq, but when he said "Miami was the first real team I've been on"

THat really fkcing sucks, all the support we gave this guy, all the championships he won with Kobe before the whole rape charge, he goes and says some BS like that, and you guys wanna commend him for that?

Fine, do it, but I certainly won't, open your eyes, KOBE IS OUR FRANCHISE PLAYER, not SHAQ, stop living in the past and start supporting our team.

Damn, I think you said it best!! Why aren't you going to the game? We need to fill the Staples center with more fans like you and me. I THINK MY SIGN OUTSIDE OF STAPLES WILL BE "SHAQ WHO?" "THIS IS KOBE"S HOUSE"

WHAT DO YOU FELLOW LAKER FANS THINK? I HOPE I DONT SEE ANY LAKERS FANS WITH SHAQ JERSEYS ON JAN 16!!!!!!! [IMG]

THe fans will boo Shaq Monday. It's been over a year since Shaq played in LA, he's said alot of Sh!t about Kobe since then. The fans know that Kobe is the more MATURE and BETTER player, and that dealing Shaq was a good idea. Even the Heat fans are acknowledging that.

Seems like the only person who couldnt get over the trade and who couldnt move on, was Shaq always throwing lil cheap shots at Kobe and the Laker organization. People who say they dont have to boo Shaq to show their passion or support for the lakers. They are the people that just sit down all quiet n crap. It would be nice if the Staples Center had more fans like those of a Dallas Mavericks or something where fans go crazy and pump players up.

I think Shaq truly deserves to be booed. The media in LA Times has praised Shaq too much and cease to forget that shaq is gone while putting most of the blame on Kobe for the split of the dynasty lakers. Instead they keep on writing negative articles to keep Kobe down on his feet. If I was going to the laker game, I would BOO shaq so loud my lungs would hurt. He disses too many players around the league when I was watching Laker games. Players like Yao Ming. He certainly doesn't deserve respect. I dont know why you guys still cheer for him. The Past is the past. Live for the future, Kobe is our MVP.

I agree with you xclutchx. Laker fans are so boring. NO heart. Its dead quite till the 1 minute mark of 4th quarter. Show them we can be loud and enthusiastic fans for once.
