(Never thought i'd see Juwan on Star Players)

Two struggling teams, will face off tonight, both teams coming to play a back to back game and both teams losing their first. The injury plagued rockets losing in double overtime to the Charlotte Bobcats and the Sacramento Kings coming off a 14 point loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Our game against the Bobcats was an exciting one, John Lucas hitting a very tough three with 28 seconds to go in overtime then Luther Head showing how clutch he was by swishing through a fall away three pointer to bring the game to overtime. After that, Juwan Howard was fouled out (As was Lonny Baxter) and it resulted in having to bring in Ryan Bowen (Who missed that wide open shot when Okafor went down!) and from then there wasn’t really much we could do.

Juwan Howard looked good after that one game suspension, scoring 28 points (14 in the first quarter I believe) and pulling down 12 boards, however he wasn’t the only one with a double double as Rafer Alston had 20 points and 10 assists. David Wesley also had a great shooting game, scoring 26 points on 8/13 shooting. Luther and Baxter also chipped in with 17 and 10 respectively.

I think that was the best we could play without our star players, everyone stepped their game up but because of foul trouble we couldn’t close it out. For us to win, I think we need to play the game we did against the bobcats, and just watch out for fouls, at one point in the game we didn’t turn the ball over for quite a while, so yeah, nothing special, just step up, be cautious of fouls and limit turnovers.

Juwan Howard needs to keep up his hot streak in order for the team to have any chance of winning at all. David Wesley and Rafer Alston also stepped it up nicely in TMac's absense and they will also be counted on to play heavy minutes. Lastly, we can only hope that our bench can give us some quality minutes so the starters don't have to play so much.

I still don't see us winning though, basically because we're BAD at home and are short on talent against the Kings, who are no pushovers.

We might set some sort of record for least home attendance in one of these upcoming Toyota Center games.

Well at least Vince Young will be in the house tonight.......but this is a very winnable game for the Rockets, if they guard Bibby well off of the pick and roll.

When will D. Anderson going to be back? We miss his shooting and points from the bench.

The Rockets J.V. team put up a good fight, but same result. Close at the end just no one to finish.

Our official sponsor maybe changing from Toyota to Red Cross

Without Tmac and Yao i dont think theres a game on the schedule thats "very winnable" for the rockets, especially not the Kings. Luther Head needs to start catching fire for the Rockets.

If they could have at least made 40% of their 3 point attempts they could have won the ball game. I was there at the game. It's just too bad I already bought the tickets last saturday and then TMac got injured as well as Swift. Anyway the game was not agonizing to watch. You can see every available Rockets play hard but the ring seems too small and unfriendly for them. At least I enjoyed the jumbo double cheesburger, veeeerry big soda drink and got a six pack cooler courtesy of their Guys night out promo.

We have only one positive thing here - the next 2 games: New-Orleans at home, and Atlanta... two very winnable games.

David Wesley said couple of days ago: "We have an All-Star team on the bench", seriously, look at those players:
    Yao Ming
    Tracy McGrady
    Stromile Swift
    Derek Anderson
    Jon Barry
    Bob Sura

Our bench has a chance to win the title...

Don't get carried away. Our whole team isn't likely to win anything, not even our division.

With the ball-dominating stars out, we're seeing how much the veterans have left in their tanks, and they're responding brilliantly. Wesley and Howard are not over-the-hill yet as some think, and Alston has also stepped it up. However, Head is struggling from the field and we just don't have enough healthy bodies to close out any games. Kudos still go out to the entire team though for managing to stay in it and taking it right down the wire.

Is anyone else aggravated as much as I am over Clyde Drexler's infernal optimism? It's getting annoying, particularly when the Rockets seem to play their absolute worst in the games he's doing. Yesterday during the game, I actually muted the TV so I wouldn't have to listen to him.

At least he stopped say, "Don't worry, it's still early in the season." [IMG]

I watched this game on TV yesterday. I was having fun there. I have never expected Rockets to win this game. Maybe the starters look ok now, but Rockets have absolutely no subsitutes. I still enjoy watching Motombo works his own way out for 18 rebounds with a 39 yr old body. I like his hard foul on Bibby too. [IMG] Anyways, I believe Rockets will be good after all injured players coming back, and I don't mind to see they play very bad now since lottery is always a good thing. [IMG] I like Rockets, even if it's not a good team. It's NBA, you are either winning or losing. Somebody is gonna take the lost games anyways. Winning is not everything. I love the way Rockets playing hard without their superstars. Otherwise everybody in the forum would be San or Piston fans only, right?
