made me absolutely sick to see them loose that game. Like im really mad...I follow the Mavs like they are my own team im coaching. Maybe im weird. Anyways, they battle battle battle back and come back and send the game into overtime. Then loose...man. They shot a higher percentage, had less turnovers, more steals, and just flat beat them up and down the stat line, but there was ONE thing...Knicks had 28 offensive rebounds, and actually had more offensive rebounds in the game than they did defensive. (thats a very uncommon stat). That one stat line is what won them the game and absolutely killed the mavs. Even down the stretch, Dallas just kept letting them get off rebounds and tip ins untill they would convert. Man that bothers me. I know the Knicks are much improved and have won like 5 straight now, but Dallas surely should have won this one. The one thing that Dallas doesnt have right now that SA and Det have is consistency on the defensive end. At least now we can say that the have much improved on defense and they "can" play defense now, the consistency isnt there at a high level 48 minutes per game. Anyways, im off my soap box...Im a die hard fan and thats what it kills me to see them loose like they did tonight, and i know it burns Avery up. I could tell in his post-game press Q&A.

because they let them get 28 offensive rebounds. dallas played good for about 8-10 minutes of the game and it got them back in it. dallas is a great team, and knicks are just so so, their record indicates this, so obviously for dallas to loose to the knicks, something happened.
The bench is not performing as necessary. We could use Henderson's rebounding in the 3rd quarter this year. Dampier and Diop should give us control of the boards when one of our starter's is out or on the bench. Howard's position on the floor in the offensive set seems to have taken him out of effective rebounding range. So, I agree, if we control the glass and allow almost no second shots then teams like NY and Boston should not be in a position to win at the end of the game.
Dallas played like their 6th game in 9 nights. I guess that is their best excuse to play piss poor. I was proven right when they finally got 2 days off and were at home.
