http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/060112 Can't argue with alot of the points in this piece. The "Pulling a Vince" part made me chuckle..."makes me want to shank somebody" Enjoy

Bill "Spotfest" Simmons. Should be working on Entertainment Tonight rather than purporting to be a legitimate sports writer.

The thing is.... <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 44Thrilla:</div><div class="quote_post">What is it exactly that you don't like about him?</div> A lot of people think he's too comedic and that he needs to focus more on sports as opposed to the pop culture references...he reads like someone whose trying to be cool and appeal to a young audience. Not everyone likes his writing style. One.

But yeah, I could understand the other side of it, but I don't think his writing style is the topic here. Simmons brought up a lot of great points in this article, no matter how many outside references he brought in with them.
I enjoyed the "24" reference, anybody else watch that show? Haha, at first I thought this article was going to be about Bobby Simmons. I came in here wondering what business he has commenting on Doc Rivers.
I agreed with a lot of points in the article...and whats with no writers covering the Celtics significantly enough? I thought Bob Ryan covered them?...
^^It's NFL playoff time, the C's stink right now and half the media pundits in Boston hate the C's anyways. If you're not winning in Boston and there's another option to cover, you generally get ignored by the mainstream media.
82games.com posted a reply to this article. Lots of interesting information in it: http://www.82games.com/simmons.htm Interesting to see that my Houston Rockets have the worst defense in clutch situations.
Bill Simmons is undoubtably my favourite sportswriter. He has an ocean of knowledge about all four major sports, and he makes his arguments in a very unique, humorous, refreshingly original manner.
Celtics fans are lucky that he's a devouted fan of their team, because his articles on teams that he pays attention to are insightful and interesting. When he comments on other teams or the league as a whole, he tends to exaggerate a bit. However, you can't find anything wrong with his humour.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jerry West:</div><div class="quote_post">Bill "Spotfest" Simmons. Simmons is smart and funny. i ahvent read this article yet but i usually agree with him.
