The team is flying to Portland to play on Friday night. In a 113-104 loss to the Seattle SuperSonics on Wednesday, Francis scored just 10 points and had six turnovers. Francis is second on the team in scoring (16.6 ppg) and leads the team in assists (5.4) but has struggled with turnovers this season and leads the team in that category (3.75). He has been held under 20 points in the Magic's last six games and Orlando is 1-5 in that span. He has not been engaged in the action in the past half-dozen games. </div> Source
I can't believe this. I am really curious about what he did to deserve this suspension. I'm really shocked right now. All I know is that sometime this year, Steve Francis will be traded and our team will have our eyes set on the future. I have a feeling Francis will be upset after this suspension and won't want to give his all for this team. On top of that, he hasn't played with a lot of passion or motivation all season so I think it's time the two part ways.
I thought about something like that too, Swish. Something tells me the Knicks will trade someone like Penny Hardaway to the Magic for Steve Francis. I hope they don't do something like that, especially with the Knicks getting chemistry together, but Isiah finds it hard to stand pat around the deadline.
is he throwing games or something. or did he attack the big guy. An up date: Steve refused to play when the coach told him to go into the game so he will likely be traded.
when ever a playuer is playing so poorly and doesn't wanna play hard and doesn't put effort in.. he wants to be traded

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting michiganave17:</div><div class="quote_post">is he throwing games or something. or did he attack the big guy.</div> He wasn't throwing games (at least I don't think he was ), he was just playing with little motivation and hasn't been himself all season. He is averaging career lows in assists per game, rebounds per game and just shy of a career low in points per game. He hasn't played with much passion and hasn't stepped into the leadership role. Also, he isn't the type of point guard we need right now. He is a score first player who is slowing the development of Dwight Howard. While it is nice to have someone that can score, your point guard should be able to distribute the ball. Several times this season, the only person Francis could pass to were the opposing defenders since he is always racking up turnovers. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting michiganave17:</div><div class="quote_post">An up date: Steve refused to play when the coach told him to go into the game so he will likely be traded.</div> An article by one of the Orlando beat writers also states that the suspension came after actions during and after the game. What you are saying could be partly true but from the media is saying, it sounds like there was more to this story that nobody is reporting.
Something about Seattle brings out the worst in Francis.... I was at the Orlando game last year, and I saw him kick the Seattle camera man (I don't know if you remember this). He got suspended for two games.

Do any of you guys seriously think we will get anything for Francis? We aren't going to get anything of Francis's caliber. Best case scenario is 2 scrubs and a 1st(similar to the Vince trade-but minus a 1st rounder and minus a scrub), IMO. We are gonna want him out and teams know this so they will just barely offer anything hoping that we will bite.
If I had to guess a possible destination, Minnesota could be a good fit for Francis. With Jaric there, Francis can play SG on offense, and PG on defense. You have KG to keep him in check and the TWolves like playing pick and roll A LOT. Kandi ($5.9M) + Wally ($10M) for Francis ($13.7M) would work salary wise. This would give the Magic, yet another expiring contract since Kandi man is in the final year of his deal.
I think this'll be a good thing for Orlando in the long-term. Francis has been playing poorly and his heart clearly isn't in it. Interesting to see who wants to trade for him given this is two teams he's flat out burnt.

Who would he fit best with? Who desperately needs a point guard. Minnesota might look for a trade! It might look to keep KG in Minnesota after all those rumours
Francis is underrated in my opinion. He can score and sometimes shoots too much. In the end he a guy you want to be out there on the floor in clutch situations. Francis is a quick dude with hops .

Francis' refusual to re-enter Wednesday night's Magic-Seattle SuperSonics game led the team to suspend the guard indefinitely, The Orlando Sentinel reported Thursday on its Web site. Steve Francis Point Guard Orlando Magic Profile 2006 SEASON STATISTICS GM PPG RPG APG FG% FT% 29 16.6 4.4 5.4 44.086 75.806 The newspaper reported that according to team sources, Francis refused coach Brian Hill's decision to send him back into the game with 3:22 left and the Magic trailing 103-87. Stacey Augmon went into the game instead for Hedo Turkoglu, who had fouled out. That capped a stretch of games in which Francis had complained about the team's offense and appeared disinterested during play , leading the Magic to finally take action, according to the report. Hill declined comment on Francis, telling the Sentinel only "It's a team matter." </div>

I would be surprised if we pull off a deal like that though. Our GM's just don't seem smart enough to get enough in return for him. You would think having 2 GM's would make better moves then a hockey guy, but so far we got Francis, Jameer, Hedo and Dwight with the hockey guy and Travis Diener with the 2 GM's.
