Good news...well its not great news, but we can use anything Chronicle reports: "Yao, who had his intravenous antibiotics tubes removed on Wednesday, said he was about 2 1/2 weeks away but feeling much better, save the boredom. McGrady was still planning a Friday exam, but did not rule out returning as soon as Saturday against the Hornets or Monday in Atlanta." It seems that Tmac will be held out more I'm expecting and if Yao is correct he should be back between january 30- february 1, but I expect them to hold him out until after the allstar break.
Link? Some people might be picky about that.. I am not one of them. This is good news though, with Yao maybe carrying the team till McGrady is back.. we could make the playoffs. As long as we're under 10 games under .500 by the time T-Mac has returned, I have full faith in the team. Let's Go Rockets.
I just don't want them especially T-Mac, to come back too soon. Like many people have said, unless we magically play out of our minds the rest of the season and have some kind of super chemistry for some reason, we aren't gonna win the championship this year anyway. No sense in getting too hurt to play next year...
Good news considering the bad ones we've been hit with, but still nothing on Sura? He's off crutches now and looks fit at games, but what's his schedule? Knowing his personality, he'd be back anytime his body allows him to, but are there no solid numbers to reference? As for our playoffs hopes. I'm sure the playoffs is not out of reach if we get everyone healthy by the All-Star break, but the best possible position we can get even in our divison might be fourth. A seventh or eighth seed can draw the 2-3 game attendance financial bonus, but is it really worth it?
.. we don't need those bonus money... lol but in the summer we just need everyone to rest... it said in the chronicle that t-mac wish to rest in the summer when talking about the olympics... and i think yao would too... swift is getting better now... and he is wat i expected except a little LATE.... and then we have wesley, moochie, mutombo, barry, sura who might not be here next season...that leaves us with alston and lucas at point guard... and luther and anderson at sg... and t-mac and BOWEN at sf... our depth of guards aren't going to be a problem next season... i think we should trade welseys contract for a sf that can play the sg if needed...
You guys are having such a horrible run. Injuries and then having to go back to 1999 when Juwan Howard was actually the focus of an NBA team.
This has been a nightmare season for the Rockets and their fans. As an NBA fan I would really love to see T-Mac and Yao to come back and be %100.
lets just play bad the rest of the season and get a high draft pick. Ala David Robinson injury=Tim Duncan?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Eduardo:</div><div class="quote_post"> lets just play bad the rest of the season and get a high draft pick. Ala David Robinson injury=Tim Duncan?</div> We'd be choosing a bad year to purposely tank the season. Oden will probably come out in the next draft.
This is actually a very very good year. The top 15 players in this years draft all have a chance of making their starting lineups because they are that good. Next years draft only has one player and that is Oden, who in my opinion is overrated. He isn't going to succeed at the Nba level because all he does is dunk. Of course, he has potential, but i don't think he will succeed.

If we do get a high pick, what position do we work on? In my opinion, SG. Wesley and Anderson are pretty old and lack the height and explosiveness that most starting SGs have. Anderson used to be explosive but hes mellowed down since his injuries and 6'5 isn't really as tall as some people make it out to be. 6'7 is my ideal SG
More than likely they will draft a SF if they get into the top 10 and move TMac to the 2 because of the high class of 3s in this years draft.

Anyways, the return of the two can be either a good or bad thing depending on the way you look at it. Bad if we end up just short of playoffs and don't get into the lottery but good if somehow we pull of what Denver did last year.

It isn't a secret that my two favorite players in college hoops are in this draft and both would be perfect fits for the Rockets, but adam morrison is the best candidate. He not only rebounds but provides that badly needed offense. I'm confident we can get Hassan Adams in the second round so I'm not to worried. As for OJ Mayo, An amazing talent but won't be in the nba for 2 years. He will be in the 2008 draft most likely and will be a top 2 pick right after Oden if he goes in 2007. Bill Walker is not my cup of tea for this team.
