I just think Francis has a better understanding of the game. It doesn't seem like marbury knows when to take his shots and when to pass. Imo he can't run a team. I mean he is a great player, he has nice numbers but I wouldn't want him runing the show in Orlando.
I think Francis is better off in a team that has a good player like he did in Houston. He needs to be someones sidekick to get back into all-star form again.
how about this: Denver gets: Steve Francis Deshawn Stevenson Tony Battie The rights of Fran Vazquez Orlando gets: Andre Miller DeMarr Johnson Nene and a first or second round pick from there we could work in miller as he likes to dish off before shoot and if happens not to work out trade him for a 3 or 4 over the offseason
Not a very good trade (Salaries don't match either) Nene hasn't played all season Demarr is nothing more than a part time role player. Orlando is giving up 3 starters and Fran vasquez for basically Andre Miller and a first or second. I wouldn't do it.
I agree with TheHighness, that trade isn't much of an upgrade. Andre Miller and Steve Francis are similar players and neither one would make our team a whole lot better. Nene has been out all season and has been injury prone throughout his entire career. DerMarr Johnson is well, DerMarr Johnson. A nobody who would come off the bench. When you compare Johnson to Stevenson (who we would be shipping out in this trade), Stevenson wins by a long shot since he has really stepped up his game this season. Battie is an expiring contract so I think we could get more for him instead of packaging him in this deal. So that leaves Fran Vazquez and the Nugget's picks. That part of the deal is the only part I really like. In my opinion, this would be a horrible deal for us and I would pass in a heartbeat.
even though i like stevenson, demarr johnson is highly underrated.. everytime he gets the chance to play he lights it up..he scored i believe 32 last year against at home..nene would be a great assist though.. we could then put howard at center and nene at pf... yes hes been out with injuries but he will be back and plus us magic fans have watched players through injuries for years so its not like we are impatient for him to get back on.
Francis has been playing great lately odom is not much better than average. He is a diaspointment in LA and would be a diapointment in Orlando too. Besides I don't think Francis and kobe would work ayways.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dtpxcore:</div><div class="quote_post">Francis should get traded for a strong role player like a Lamar Odom.</div> Right now, our forward positions are actually our two strongest positions. We have Dwight Howard and Hedo Turkoglu active right now and when Grant Hill comes back (in a couple of days) we will have yet another forward to work into our lineup. If we traded Francis I don't think we would be looking at someone like Odom. Not only does he not fit into our system, he has a reputation of being a slacker and not giving his all every night. That isn't the type of attitude I would want here in Orlando and I wouldn't be a happy camper if Otis Smith pulled the trigger on a trade like this. With the way Steve Francis has been playing and acting lately, I think it is safe to say Francis is off the block. The front office seems dedicating to winning with the lineup they have now and I doubt we will see a Franchise trade before the deadline later this month.
