Since he returned from injury to the starting lineup Dec. 21, the Jazz have been 11-2, and even if that changes tonight when Shaquille O'Neal, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat make their only visit of the season to the Delta Center, it probably can't take away the way Kirilenko is playing.
"I think he's having fun. I think that's the biggest thing," said Jazz point guard Milt Palacio of Kirilenko, who is coming off a game at Philadelphia in which he scored 23, grabbed six rebounds, blocked four shots, and dished out four assists as Utah won its third straight game.
"When you're healthy, you can do everything," said Kirilenko, who missed 10 games with either back spasms or an ankle sprain. "Physically you can go for any ball ? you feel you can get it. When you're not healthy sometimes, you know you can block shot, but you couldn't go because you don't feel like your body will support you. Same with steals. Same with assists, rebounds ? with everything."
Kirilenko's mind is also healthier since he had his talk a month ago with coach Jerry Sloan to discuss his role. "We had the conversation with the coach, and we changed something in our offense, so everybody can get to touch the ball," Kirilenko said.
That has brought the old confidence back to the one-time all-star. "Every shot, I'm sure I'm going to score," he says. Before, "You don't have it because you have limited opportunities to shoot it. I would say limited catches."</div>
