Start Diop which he is already going to do. BUT give him some adjustment time to build his confidence. Let him know he's going to be the man for Dallas in the middle. Play Stack more, especially in closing out halves and in the 4th q. Play Damp and Diop at the same time to mess with people. (Diop at the 4) Play Jason at the 2 more with Devin at the point to mess with people (not all the times, just for spells) Continue to ride these guys hard they are responding to the tough general approach. Chew the older guys out more than the rooks and 2nd year players - reverse psychology. The same way Memphis is known as a defensive team out of nowhere, Dallas should have that same goal, to be known as a defensive team. (even if that's a stretch with their personnel). They need to forget about their offense -that will come they have too many talented offensive players to worry about that.
I would stay up late studying the best zone defenses of all time because a great zone defense with a trailer on the other team's go to guy (Hamilton, Bryant, McGrady...) suits Dallas better than a man to man. Heck, even the best football teams now all play zones in blocking and tackling. Dallas should make opposing teams feel like 24 seconds is not nearly enough time to get an open look.
Let Harris get more time at the point. Make him play even when he is struggling to let him know he is the man for the future and they are counting on. Have Terry play more shooting guard and get used to Harris playing the point and Terry looking for shots off the ball. Talk to Stack about taking less 3's since he has never been a high percentage shooter there.
