<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So much for the hot rumor served up Friday on ''Cold Pizza.'' Bulls general manager John Paxson did not mince words when he dismissed a report broadcast on the ESPN2 morning program that the Bulls were talking trade with the Boston Celtics -- a deal said to feature a swap of Boston's Paul Pierce for the Bulls' Ben Gordon. ''Whoever is reporting that is absolutely irresponsible because there is nothing based in fact in that rumor, whatever you want to call it,'' Paxson said after his team's practice. ''I resent, and I think a lot of us in this position resent, having to answer to these things all the time. It's not based in any fact whatsoever. All it does is a disservice to our player. ''Now you're going to talk to them; you're going to say something to them, and they're going to have to answer a question that they shouldn't have to answer. All that is going on now is people are just throwing stuff out there and hoping something sticks, and it's absolutely irresponsible. Whoever is talking about this has no clue what they're talking about. ''And that's it.''</div> <div align="center">Source</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Bulls GM John Paxson reacted angrily Friday to a televised report that the Bulls could be on the verge of trading Ben Gordon to the Boston Celtics. ?Whoever?s reporting that is absolutely irresponsible, because there?s nothing based in fact in that rumor ? whatever you want to call it,? Paxson said. ?I resent having to ? and I think a lot of us in this position ? resent having to answer to these things all the time. It?s not based in any fact whatsoever.? Two versions were mentioned on ESPN2. One was Gordon and Tim Thomas for Celtics star Paul Pierce, and the other Gordon, Thomas and one of the Bulls? first-round draft picks for Pierce, Ricky Davis and center Mark Blount. An NBA source suggested such a trade was discussed but that it?s been dead for a few weeks. Even though Pierce is the league?s sixth-leading scorer at 26.5 points per game, there has been speculation for some time that Celtics GM Danny Ainge has been interested in trading him. Acquiring Thomas? expiring contract could put Boston below the salary cap as soon as this summer. The Bulls like Pierce but have reservations about whether he?d be a team player. They have little interest in Davis or Blount. ?I?m not going to sit here and say I?ve talked to Danny Ainge or Boston about this, that, because it doesn?t do any good,? Paxson said. ?All it does is a disservice to our players, because now you?re going to talk to them and they?re going to have to answer a question that they shouldn?t have to answer.</div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
If I am not mistaken I also heard the Celtics deny any Rumors about Pierce getting traded. He is having a very good season and isnt going no where..
