<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> R on Artest? For the Sixers? No thanks. "That?s a scary proposition," team president Billy King said. "Everybody I talk to in Indianapolis tells me that is not a deal you want to make. He is not someone you want on your roster." For that information, King needed to waste long-distance minutes on a call to Indiana? What possible value could Artest bring to the Sixers, other than to magnify the attention on his own shortcomings, on and off the court? Artest is a guy who was bounced from the NBA last season for entering the stands and punching somebody. Then, after the Pacers stood by him, he demanded a trade. Now, he is not playing at all. Advertisement Not to suggest that he may not be a team player, but Artest once was benched for one of the all-time most ridiculous ideas -- for requesting time off from the Pacers to promote a record album. Once, he was ordered to undergo anger management -- three years before that episode in the stands. He was alleged to have destroyed television equipment, served a four-game suspension for arguing with his coaches and teammates, three times was suspended for flagrant fouls and once was caught giving the paying customers in Cleveland an obscene gesture. Two other things: He is known to have had symptoms of a heart murmur. And at the end of the day, his teams lose. Ron Artest? For the Sixers? No thanks. Too scary.</div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
I would welcome him here. I think all he needs is a fresh new start with a team. Of course that's what I said with Terrel Owens too, but I woluld welcome him here anyway. We need defense, he brings defense.
yeah, if he comes here, the atlantic division should be pretty much won IMO. long as we dont give away any of our bigs and our players stay healthy. but the locker room issues will be a problem. id rather not let artest come to our club because i dont want this team to ruin the chemistry we already have. im also wondering what the sixers fans would do if artest comes and ruins this team. via complaining about shots and ect.
Talent-wise he is a perfect fit here, but the main reason he demanded a trade from Indiana was because he felt he should be featured more in the offense... and guess what? He was their second option! So how is he going to handle being in a system where AI and Webber dominate the ball? I'd love to have him here, but it is DEFINITELY a MAJOR risk...
The only reason I wouldnt want him hear is hes basically already said that after hes traded and his contract is up hes going to New York So why take a player when they pretty much wouldnt want to be there and would be leaving in the immidate future kind of a waste
The city of Philadelphia is scared to take risks on players now. Me, being from Florida, I want Philly to make a trade for Artest.
I`m afraid if he did come here, it would blossom into a beautiful TO situation, but who could we give up for him? Korver, Iggy?
