"I don't know what I'm going to do,'' said Mavs coach Avery Johnson, playing coy. "We'll see once the game starts.'' The next opportunity to make this move for the start of a game comes Saturday at home against the Nets. A more pivotal role could be given to Diop, in part because of his active style, which has allowed him to contribute 4.5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 points per game in just 17 minutes in the former Cleveland bust's first season in Dallas. Damp -- who has started all but three of his games in his two Mavs seasons -- is contributing 6.8 rebounds and 6.5 points per game. </div> more in link
Seems like a pretty good idea so far. Diop brings more energy to the game than Dampier does. It could work out well. Dallas is 1-0 with Diop starting.
