This is completely made up, nothing to it..so don't read into it

How about some sort of Erick Dampier for Tyson Chandler trade

I think the Bulls are fed up with Tyson, especially tonight after his 4 minutes -- 5 fouls/1 turnover

Both contracts are equally bad, but Tyson is much younger

Would the Bulls even consider it?

I think Dallas would love the trade but the Bulls would say hell no. If the Bulls want to trade him, I'm sure they will find a better offer then for Dampier.

The only way I would trade Dampier without giving him more time to develop into a monster is if Chicago would include Darius Songaila and Chandler. The Bulls should not mess with their team now, but if they were willing to trade the above players for Dampier and insisted on more consideration for Damp's 73 million contract (which is the deal breaker) then let them have next year's second round draft choice and Josh Powell. Powell is an interesting talent, but will not play for the Mavericks; they're just too deep. Powell, who can shoot at 6'9" and rebound and play defense would be a steal. But Songaila is also a steal who can run, pass and shoot not to mention defend at the NBA level.
But Dallas still has Damp's stock rated as a hold, and Chicago has a very good team that with patience and self-discipline (on the owners' part) will be battling Cleveland and New York for the Conference Championship in 2 years.

No I don’t think they would. The Bulls have been frustrated with Chandler this season, but even they realize that his struggles should in large part be placed on the organization, because they threw him into a position where he has to be the man down low, and have been asking him to do way to much. The Bulls need to keep Chandler, not trade him for another underachieving over paid player. The Bulls have made it clear they do not want to mess with there young core thus far this season, despite their struggles they have shot down every single trade rumor. If they keep Chandler and sign a free agent this summer, or draft a big man in the draft. They are in a much better position then they would be with Dampier on the team.

Nice thought, but like most others have mentioned there's almost no way the Bulls would make that deal unless any one of the Mavs young trio of Harris/Daniels/Howard are included. Though Chandler's stats dont show much, he brings more intensity and is more active on the court than Dampier. Right now, I'd take Chandler over Dampier.

In keeping with the Dallas thread question about the trade idea with the Bulls:
is not Darius Songaila one of the most versatile players you have ever seen?
Is there anything this guy cannot do. I think he could score 20 every night if asked to do so. I think he could get 6 assists every night if asked. Even when his stats look uninspiring, if you had watched the game, his passes are on the money and he knows who should be receiving the ball and exactly what Coach Skiles wants done. If every Bull had his basketball knowledge and attitude to go with their skills, the Bulls would be a top 12 team in the power rankings.
