Wolves owner hinting at possible Olowokandi trade
Apparently the real reason the Timberwolves have not been playing Michael Olowokandi is that the center, in his last year of his contract, could be traded very soon.

Apparently the real reason the Timberwolves have not been playing Michael Olowokandi is that the center, in his last year of his contract, could be traded very soon.
Wolves owner Glen Taylor strongly hinted at that after Friday night's victory over Denver at Target Center.

"Call me in 72 hours and I will have some news for you," said Taylor, sounding like the deal had been made and will be announced soon.

However, Taylor said the Wolves don't have any interest in suspended Orlando point guard Steve Francis, who is making too much money.

As for Indiana's Ron Artest, Taylor said: "I don't know of anything that's new on Ron Artest. They haven't talked to us, so I assume there is nothing that's going to happen."

Taylor said he is disappointed with the Wolves' .500 record.

"I'm the same as the team and the coach, that we're disappointed with the wins that we have," he said. "I think at this point in the process that we just thought that we would be further on our plan. It appears more in the area of scoring. We're just having trouble finding guys who can score. So that's what we're working on."

With Utah being a big surprise, it is not going to be easy for the Wolves to win the Northwest Division with their current personnel. </div>

It seems that KG will stay and Minnesota are finally bringing in some back up. Who will he go for. He says that he wont go for Francis or Artest. So who are we looking at bringing in?
We will have to wait the 72 hours and see but it sounds like its a done deal, theyre just [IMG] for the [IMG]

The Spurs brought in Tony Parker and Ginobli and with great defense and perimeter offensive specialists with Tim Duncan parting the waters on the front line, created a championship squad.
The Timberwolves have a similar player in Garnett, but he is no Duncan. You can compare the two, you can compare statistics and argue all night, but Duncan is a different character. But the point is, Minnesota has tried to duplicate San Antonio and has failed. There was Marbury at the beginning, but there did not seem to be enough money for both him and Garnett. Then we heard that MN had the best PG in the League in Terrell Brandon (SI cover) but he faded away (injuries, sal. cap). Now they have Troy Hudson and Jaric, a legitimate PG, not your first choices but good players and good enough to start on a championship team. Szcierback is no Ginobli, but can give defenses fits if he's on. MN now needs to find the other pieces. Maybe they have, but probably not. They had a tough injury and a couple of questionable drafts. They have 4 weeks to make it happen. If the Wolves don't go deep, or do not appear to be on the precipice of greatness when eliminated in a struggle in the Conference championship, then either MN brings another superstar to play with Garnett or they trade the latter and work on finding a new coach and general manager.

Yes i agree he is no duncan. Duncan has a presence on the court that allows double teams and frees Ginobilli for shots and drives, Finley as well, Parker to just waltz in and lay it up, and makes Nestervic look like an all star. sometimes lol.
Minnesota just hasnt drafted the right players. At the time yer. Now, HA.
They need to get rid of Olowakandi and bring in a player like a tmac or someone high profile who can put some numbers up to add to KGs game. I think at this point in his career. His 9th season, he will give anything for one. Even the rock!

I'm sure it's a lot harder for T'Wolves fans to keep KG rather than Olowakandi [IMG]

Seriously though, I can see a Kandi for Blount swap in the near future.
