I just wanted to take a moment and say how happy and proud I am of the Lakers these past few weeks.

From the win over LeBron James and the Cavaliers, to the victory tonight at Miami, Kobe and Shaq making it cool, Bynum dunking on Shaq, Lamar/Kwame stepping up, and Kobe finally getting the recognition he deserves and no longer being Public Enemy #1, everything's just going so great.

Times like this when I appreciate being a Laker fan, you stick with them through thick and thin and see them come out strong, 4 games above .500, I just hope we can keep this streak going.

That's all I have to say for now, hope everything feels the same.

yeah baby! right on! in fact at the start of the season i had a good feeling about kobe and the laker's performance for this year. I really think kobe has a good chance to finally bag that MVP trophy... i also hope that everybody would appreciate his effort in trying to be at peace with the public.

Uhuh... execuse me?</div>From what I understand...Bynum dunked on Shaq last night. I read it on the ESPN recap and now have heard it here, so I'm thinking it's true. And yes, it's good to be a Laker fan right now, I just hope we can keep it up and don't falter the way we did last time we suffered a loss after a win streak.

It was better than a dunk. He faked right and did a NICE spin move to the left, leaving Shaq. Bynum was gone before Shaq could blink. Then he threw down a nice dunk.

This was the period Phil called a do-or-die period during this game stretch. The Lakers beat the opponents that were said to make or break the Lakers. Kobe has done a fabulous job leading the team, and the chemistry seems to be doing just fine. Props to Kobe for his mature leadership, for Phil for getting this team out of the gutter and putting them above .500, and for the rest of the team that are doing their part to keep this team afloat. Oh yeah, props for good defense.

Lol yeah the dunk that bynum had was the equivalent of kobe pump faking some one out of the gym, bynum faked and spin so fast I would have missed the entire thing if I had even blinked.

I hope the lakers can keep winning, get a good 7 to 10 games above .500

Co-sign on this thread! Life is great as a Laker fan right now. I'm telling you, the magic numbers are 99 on offense and keeping the opponent to low 90's on defense. Our defense has been outstanding the last 3 games, and it gives Kobe a chance to close it out in the final quarter and secure the W. The Lakers are now 11-11 in games where the final score is decided by 6 or less points. They flashed a stat last night and we lead the league in close games at 22. This young team needs to get to a point where they start winning at least 65% of the close games.

Only thing I'm worried about now is other western conference teams playing well. The Lakers look pretty safe right now, but if teams like Utah, Denver, Minnesota and Golden State get it going, the Lakers playoff spot might be in jeapordy. However, I am fairly confident that the Lakers will reach the playoffs, perhaps even going past the first round if they get a bad opponent.

Definitely a valid concern, but on the upside, the Lakers schedule gets easier in the second half of the season and we have more games at home. I think the team who could make a serious run are the Kings still. Their February schedule is a cake walk and if they can keep close, they could sneak in at the end.

The Warriors are mess right now, and they are having player-coach issues. The Lakers have to take advantage of their slide and get some space between them in the standings.

I'm not too, worried about the TWolves, I know they've swept us, but the scheduling completely favored them in both games. The Lakers had to play them in the second of back to back games both times, while Minnesota was fully rested and prepared. I just don't see them having enough to win the division and make the post-season. They are in some trade talks, but unless they make some deals and get some consistent players, they won't be a serious threat.

Denver and Utah are the two that worry me most. Denver is only going to get better once Camby returns and George Karl has Melo playing amazing basketball right now. They also have some trades available and pieces to get a big deal done.

Utah is once again without Boozer, but this team just finds ways to win games. They've beaten Detroit twice and always give themselves an opportunity to win. Inexperience could be their downfall, but they have great shot at winning their division and being the 3rd seed.

The Lakers aren't good enough to win the Pacific, but I want them to aim for the 6th seed so they can face either Denver, Utah, or Minnesota in Round 1. We can take any of those teams in a 7 game series and then try to make it a series against San Antonio or Phoenix.

Its about time a thread like this was made, and its about time they gave us the opportunity to do so. We're not championship contenders, but I'm just grateful that we are in playoff contention. Well done LA, keep it up! Yeh and I went crazy when Bynum made Shaq look stupid. I seriously started shouting and everything like we won the playoffs or something. I recorded the game and I still find myself re-watching the Bynum play over and over again. Infact, I'm going to go watch it now.

This is a great time for the Lakers...and you know what I'm gonna go out on a feeling and say that this period might not be the BEST YET this season....so things are looking great...if Lakers beat Detroit in a non-fluke fashion...then I think all haters need to hush! go Lakers

Put up the purple and gold
This team is on a roll

If the Lakers keep playing solid D and winning close games, there is no reason why we won't be the 6th seed. Kobe is playing amazing ball right now, both ends of the floor. Like I've said before, if the Lakers make the playoffs, there is no reason why he isn't MVP. The writers need to realize that.

As a laker, you've always, up until last year, felt like if they don't make the finals they suck and you get really disappointed. This years, it's totally different and alot more comfortable for us as laker fans. Instead it's like we're rooting for underdogs, and for me, it's alot more fun. Every win is a time for celebration and you pay alot more attention to the benchplayers that are making progress.
It's the whole change of my view of the Lakers, and I am truly proud for those small efforts shown from every single player every now and then. Except the fact that you should expect extra much from Kobe (that delivers) and Lamar (that delivers most of the time since we're over the .500 mark [IMG])

Cheers and lets hope for an even better half of the season to come!
