Bibby will replace Jim Lynam, who earlier this month announced that he would not return to the team this season due to health reasons. A former Sixer, Bibby has a combined 22 years of playing and coaching experience between the professional and collegiate ranks. Most recently, he served as the head coach for the Los Angeles Sparks of the WNBA for the 2005 season. Prior to his time in the WNBA, Bibby served as the head coach of the University of Southern California men?s basketball team where he posted a 131-111 record over nine seasons. He led the Trojans to back-to-back 20-win seasons in 2000-01 and 2001-02, and earned a trip to the Elite Eight in 2001. During his nine year playing career in the NBA, Bibby averaged 8.6 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He spent time with the New York Knicks (1972-74, 1974-75), New Orleans Jazz (1974-75, 1975-76), the 76ers (1976-80) and the San Diego Clippers (1980-81). In total, Bibby played in 675 games, scored 5,775 points, had 2,259 assists and pulled down 1,581 rebounds in the NBA. With the Sixers, as a teammate of Maurice Cheeks, Bibby averaged 10.1 points, 4.6 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 327 games (208 starts). </div> <div align="center"> Source</div>
never heard of him, and i doubt that he will make this team signifigantly better. but its still good to see the sixers bring back some former teamates.
Yep, and I think the next step is to persuade Moses Malone to come out of retirement and play for us! Hell he'd be a better rebounder than half our team...
Yeah, and we should hire some scientists to invent a time-machine, and bring back Dr. J! Jeez, we need to start winning some ball games.
Hey is Andrew Toney still avaliable? Don't worry about the ball games. You are dealing with a former MVP so something is bound to happen. Just be patient. As long as they can get a 3rd/5th seed, I'm happy. Once it's Playoff time the Sixers somehow always happen to go into a zone and make a series no matter who they play. AI on the other hand goes into a complete zone. Hey he is only #2 in PPG in Playoff history. But for the most part I want them to start winning and I'm confident they will, but at the end of the day I want a 3rd/5th seed, and I'm good.
Yeah, I hear you... just bored, waiting for the game to start. Anyway, we had a history of playing strong after the ASB under Larry, so hopefully Mo can bring some of that magic to this team after the ASB. Through all these troubles, we have to remember we're still doing better than we were at this point last year. I wanted 50 wins before the season, and we could still achieve that, but we need to turn it around soon. We'd have to go on a MAJOR run to accomplish that. At this point I'll be happy with 45 wins, and a 3rd-5th seed, like you Avery. However, I'd settle for a 6th seed, because that probably means we're playing NJ.
