If they all get into rhythm, i say watch out. - Play to win the game. The Sixers at times this season look dead and look like they just dont care, last game against the Wizards was a fine example. The Sixers must at least want to win in order to win the game. - Force turnovers. The Sixers are great at doing this, having AI and AI2, both great defenders that always have a nack for coming out with steals. If the Sixers get turnovers, then they get a better opportunity to score, which means they will get a better opportunity to win the game.</font> Since no one made this preview, i decided to make it. so far, it's the second quarter, and the sixers are down 44-4. i predict that the Sixers will make a run and come out with a victory. 106-102.
We have really been playing poorly thus far. We have missed several easy buckets. The times we have played good defense, we have simple shot our selves in the foot by not getting defensive rebounds. Although, we are still very much in the game it is not looking good at all from my perspective. BTW: Good job on this preview on such short notice.
I think Allen really has to start playin his game and forget everyone who says he selfish and all that BS Cheeks is tryin to make Allen do less which imo is ridiculous we were getting killed and then allen took 19 of his 27 pts bc he basically said f it ima take control in the third and now were back in the game so cut the crap and let allen play cheeks dont be a fool
Cheeks pulls AI at the start of the 4th and we down 15 How is it that hard to see I just dont understand
How is it NOT to see why Cheeks pulled AI? I guess we weren't watching the same game. Yes, Allen was going crazy, brought the team back within five, but then what happened? He took a "heat-check" three over two defenders, missed, and Cliff Robinson buried a three on the other end. The last two minutes of the quarter, AI didn't pass a SINGLE time! Korver was wide-open, but AI took another jumper over two players. Then, he penetrated, got in the lane, Shavlick was open for a dunk, and Allen throws up a crazy shot. He forced it way too much. He was on fire, great. Then, when you miss a couple of shots, and your teammates are WIDE OPEN, pass the ball! I'm happy Mo finally got up the courage to stand up to AI, and as much as I love AI, I am in full support of Mo on this one. Ed Snider needs to either fire himself, or fire Billy. When will they realize this team is going nowhere with Allen? I love Allen, and I wish he is in Philly for the rest of his career, but if you want to win, either do something to get solid players around him or just trade him and let our young guys develop. Billy, everything is lined up. Now is the right time to trade Allen, but you don't have the balls to do it.
ehh......another loss. im just dissapointed. dont feel like saying nothing but i guess i will. trade AI? sure. i dont care. get some draft picks. might as well trade iggy for a draft pick as well. fire mo cheeks and billy king and ed snider. I DONT CARE!! JUST GET A FREAKING WIN FOR CRYING OUT LOUND.
I'm frustrated like you are, but at this point the season is notlost yet. The 76ers have a lot of work to do, but right now they have a lot of time to work with really. Although these horribble losses are pretty discouraging, this team still is learning a new system, and the players have not played with each other that long either. But hey what do you expect? This team has had new head coaches often sokind of try and understand a bit more. The thing is you guys can make more of an assesment than I can, because I barely see any Sixers games.
We seriously, seriously need to make moves NOW. This is getting way too frustrating for us as Sixers fans, I don't care what BK has to do, MAKE SOME DAMN MOVES. Ugh.

AI was cold at the end of the third. In the last two minutes alone he missed five or six shots, where his teammates were wide-open and in better position to score. Cheeks and King said themselves they have a plan, and that they will stick with it no matter what the players think. It's time to start rewarding players that actually defend and rebound out there. From what I saw after that 19-point outburst by AI, he deserved to start the fourth on the bench, even though I don't know if it was because Mo was mad or if it was just part of his "normal" substitution pattern. If anything, I hope AI takes this as a kick in the butt, and this team starts playing well. I never thought I'd question Allen's effort, but that is exactly what I find myself doing right now. Is it out of frustration? I don't know. All I know is that these guys need to get their heads on straight. No more excuses, no pointing fingers, no nothing. Take responsibility for yourself, and start playing like you want to win. If any player doesn't want to do that, I'm happy with him being on the bench... even if it is our best player. AI has had this franchise by it's balls for the past ten years. Billy, do something. Mo, do something. Allen, do something! I could go on and on, but I'll stop here because I'm tired... mediocrity sucks. On one hand, you're not good enough to contend, and on the other you're not even bad enough to get a high pick.
well, after thinking about it, ive came to a conclusion that it isnt BK's fault. as much as we want to place blame on him, or on anyone, you have to remember. BK is the GM, and as the GM, he can only do so much. and that is getting the best group of players together as possible, and he's done that IMO. he made a great trade getting C-Webb, and if you look at our roster, we have tons of talent. but we are underchieving, and the only people we can blame for that is either the players or the coach.
I see your point, but I disagree. 1. He has not put together the best group of players he can, in my opinion. He is a mediocre GM, and we have an owner who concentrates 99% of his time on the Flyers and 1% (if even that) on the Sixers. 2. The CWebb trade was alright, but in my opinion it was too little, too late, and it was a ploy to keep the fans and AI happy. I don't want to get into that whole debate, because it takes way from this topic. 3. We don't have tons of talent. AI, Iguodala, Webber, and Dalembert are excellent. Korver is a sixth-man. Salmons is a 7th or 8th man. Nailon is the same as Salmons, probably worse. Randolph, Bradley and Williams are guys who would be on the IR if there still was one (on most other teams). Hunter can't grab a rebound to save his life. This roster has a lot of holes, and it's BK's job to try and fix them. So far he hasn't done that. 4. If you think about it, what have been the constants since Larry Brown left? Allen Iverson and Billy King. One of the two has to go, and I'd rather get rid of Billy King before AI, but if totally needed I'd definitely trade AI. However, neither of them will be traded because Snider is in love with Billy for some unknown reason, and Billy doesn't have the balls to trade AI. I hope these guys can turn it around, but I looked at the 3-OT win against Boston as a spring board to launch a nice winning streak, and that hasn't happened. If a win like that doesn't motivate you, then a loss like the Wiz loss should. Those two sure as hell didn't do it, so I don't know what will.

According to AI Mo was angry in after the Nets game. He had 30 minute speech telling the guys something. And while the guys on the team was being interviewed all they were saying is we need to stick together. So there is probably some reassurance going on and they will just continue to fight. This is like de-ja-vu because last season it was this bad and I kept wondering why am I rooting for this team and all they kept saying is that they need to stick together and before I knew it, they went on some hot stretches. This team has won 6 straight this season against some qualitiy teams so again, something is bound to happen. We just need to stay patient and work with them.
I heard about that too. AI was saying how he'd never seen this side of Mo before... hopefully you're right, but until I see some positive results on the court, I'm not buying it.
