C'mon guys, just because I wasn't here doesn't mean you shouldnt be able to start a game thread!

We are dominating, Dirk has 30 points already. Both Dampier and Diop are having good rebounding nights and are assist numbers are high

Dirk had a big game tonight, draining treys from everywhere. Houston was never really in the game. Man, I love Griffin. I have no idea how the loose ball get to his hands everytime!

Mavs 103 Rockets 76 Grades: Mavs? Third Blowout in a Row

The Mavs at the Rockets started out a bit slow with the Mavs claiming a 19-14 lead at the end of the first period, but it was all Mavs from there on out. The good news is that this wasn?t just good offense, it was excellent defense. The Rockets only scored 14 in the first, 20 in the second and 16 in the third. Avery emptied his bench in the third. Of course this was a Rockets team that has been hit extremely hard by the injury bug, so the Mavs were expected to win, but this was a game that easily could have bitten the Mavs if they had not taken it seriously. Here?s to hoping that the Mavs take the LA ?Mavs Killers? Clippers seriously.

UPN 21: A+; It?s just been too long since the last UPN 21 broadcast. I guess it just makes you appreciate the fine work they do more. +36

Laura Green : A+; Not only is Laura providing incredible insight from the sidelines and Avery?s timeouts but she?s also getting post-game locker room duty! +24

Johnson: A, The Mavs started slow but finally got going towards the end of the first period. There was no waiting in the third as the Mavs came out of the half time locker room and quickly put the game out of reach.

Howard: B+, Josh didn?t quite make it to his expected double-double, but that was mainly because of the Mavs center production on the boards. Josh backed up Dirk with 18 points (5-9 FG, 8-10 FT). +16

Nowitzki: A, Dirk again was on cruise control offensively with 29 points (10-14 FG, 4-4 treys, 5-5 fT) in only 25 minutes. +29

Diop: B+, Probably DeSagana?s best game as a starter yet, but keep in mind the competition. Diop had 2 points (1-1 FG, 0-2 FT) to go with 7 rebounds and 2 blocked shots. Zero turnovers. +10

Griffin: B; Adrian?s box was nothing special, but again as a premier ?Glue Guy?, the box score isn?t the emphasis. +4

Terry: B-, Jason had a tough night, but that?s what backups are for (when they come through that is). Jason ended up with 8 points (3-9 FG, 2-6 treys) to go with 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 rebound. +6

Dampier: B+, Erick produced another good game off the bench with 8 rebounds, 7 points (2-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 2 assists and 2 blocked shots in only 13 minutes. Erick is playing against backups, but he is being quite effective nevertheless. +14

Harris: A; Devin brought some nice energy off the bench with Jason struggling with 16 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 treys, 2-4 FT) to go with 5 assists and 5 rebounds. +22

Stackhouse: B, Jerry struggled with his shot, with his only 2 makes coming from behind the arc on his way to 8 points (2-9 FG, 2-3 treys, 2-2 FT). Jerry also pitched in 6 rebounds and 3 assists. +11

Powell: A, Josh hits the floor in the third with the blowout in full effect and takes advantage of his time. Powell kicks in 6 points (3-4 FG) including a nice alley-oop play to go with a pair of blocked shots. Zero turnovers. Josh even got called for a post game interview! +8

Armstrong : A, Darrell gets the A if for nothing else is nice blocked shot. That wasn?t all since he also pitched in 9 points (2-6 FG, 1-2 treys, 4-4 FT). +6

M?Benga: B, DJ didn?t score (0-1 FG) but had two nice blocked shots and a rebound. +2

Daniels: DNP-Inactive, Marquis is out yet again with neck swelling from the Kurt Thomas clothes line hit but he was looking mighty sharp in his pin-stripe suit.

Van Horn: DNP- Inactive, Keith got the night off to rest his sprained ankle suffered in the last game.

Marshall : DNP-Inactive, Rawle has been sent to the Fort Worth Flyers (NBDL) to get playing time.

Podkolzin: DNC-Inactive, Pavel had surgery to repair his right foot and ankle and is expected to miss three months.

What has been great about the last three games is the defensive intensity that the Mavs have shown. Hope they can keep this run going. But it seems like we will never catch the Spurs.

The mavs need to keep winning and not worry so much about San Antonio. Dirk was unbelievable again and right now I feel he is the mvp of the league. 10-14 is awesome and 29 points in 27 minutes. Diop is a beast on defense. There are no easy shots when Diop is in the game. He protects the paint incredibly well from slashers. Terry's defense is underrated imo. He still was a factor tonight in more of a defensive way. Howard is becoming a scorer which is good because Dirk needs a second option and Terry would be the third.
