One might suspect that the man choosing the next U.S. Olympic basketball team would want players with track records of success in international competition, but it would appear that Jerry Colangelo has lost Vince Carter's phone number.

Carter doesn't really mind because, he would like to spend that time with his daughter but Im still sure, he will get a call later about the Olympics.

I'd have chosen Carter ahead of James. Experience is vitale in international competion.

Vince always seemed to step up his game for international competition. Even after a sub-par season, he'd be the best player on the US team. I suppose they want to introduce some of the younger stars to international play early on, to develop some chemistry and experience for further competitions.

In a related story, Ferdrick Weis has finally accepted an invitation sent to him 2 months ago to join the French team.
