As a guest last night on Comcast SportsNet's "Daily News Live," Jackson campaigned for more minutes for his young protege. In the locker room before the game, Randolph smiled.
"He taught me a lot about positioning, which has much to do with rebounding as anything," Randolph said. "He told me you have to know who's shooting, how the balls come off the rim, that you have to play with a different level of intensity.
"He makes up for so much with the way he plays. Not that he doesn't have athleticism, but the players he plays against have more. He makes up for it with how hard he plays. I had to go one-on-one with him all the time."
Did the kid get a lot out of it?
"There was a lot of me getting banged in my chest," Randolph said, laughing. "He made me a lot better."

who knows? randolf can very well be a steal for us. in the very little minutes he's played, he's showed us a lot. i think he has the skills to be a valuable 6th man and maybe even a starter. im a big fan and i know avery is as well.

He'll more than likely be a solid bench player in this league, but in no way do I seem him becoming a starter... unless he plays for one of the worst teams in the league. Hopefully he can prove me wrong...

Shavlik Randolph's just not a solid rebounder, he's a solid all-around defender, oh and yes, I have him on my 06 squad.
