<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">SEATTLE—It hasn't degenerated into the open hostilities that engulfed Glen Grunwald and Kevin O'Neill two seasons ago, but the relationship between Sam Mitchell and Rob Babcock is not the happiest in NBA circles these days.

The Raptors coach and his general manager, hardly close friends and confidants at the best of times, may have been pushed further apart this week with the confusing recall of second-year forward Pape Sow.

In bringing Sow back from the Arkansas RimRockers of the D League, Babcock has presented Mitchell with a player who needs playing time to develop but who nonetheless seems destined to languish on the Raptor inactive list for the foreseeable future.

Mitchell refused to comment on the recall in Portland on Wednesday night, except to say it was a decision made by the GM and that he had no minutes available for an unproven second-round draft pick who has struggled every NBA game he's played in.</div>

Could this be another Grunwald/O'Neill relationship or is this another case of the media making a mountain out of a mole hill?

I think that it was a terrible decision to call up Sow against Sam's wishes if that is the case. Not too say Sow isn't good but the way Mitchell described Sow according to the article, it doesn't seem like he is eager to play him.

I saw an interview w' Mitchell on The Score and all he could utter was the fact that there's just no damn minutes to play Sow lol.. Seems like another case of miscommunication to me.. What's the point of bringing Sow back up if there's no minutes for him? Yeah, apparently Mitchell's happy enough with Araujo's progress..

Yeah, Mitchell seems content with the idea of bonner playing extended minutes at center even during crunch time. It's pretty obvious that we're in desperate need of some help with rebounding and interior defense.... Not saying that Pape Sow is the answer, but at this point, might as well give it a shot..... afterall, he does have the potential.

^true, I think Sam should try and play him right now. ANd if Babcock did this against Sam's wishes, it makes me think that Babcock could have his own little trade or a plan up his sleeves.

i didnt like the fact that we brought sow up in the first place! he shoulda stayed down there for a while longer! i mean he got put into the game with only a few days practice with the team while aarron, and loren just sat there, when they could've contributed more to the Seattle game, then Sow "could have". I like the idea of having bonner playing more minutes but i'd prefer loren or aarron. I dont know whats up with these two, there perfectly in a position where they can contribute! why arent they playing? aarron is a great vet and big body he might've abused the young ones on Seattle.

maybe the Hoffa injury is a bit more serious than we all thought???? maybe thats the reason for bringing pape up! i wouldnt make too much outta this

Mitchell vs. Babcock situation. they keep in touch, regularly i believe and are a good one two punch.... I CANT believe i just said that! but we're growing and just wait till we blossom....or we could get veteran coaches who get the pink slip.
