Wow -- thanks for the interesting numbers. Yeah, I like Murphy but I always had a hunch his rebounding numbers were "padded" because there was nobody else on the Warriors to grab easy defensive clean-ups, so he'd get all those. Antawn sucked at rebounding. Foyle was always like 4 rpg on the year.

But as JRich's rebounding went up, Troy's went down. I hope I'm wrong and that he's just in a "toughness and rebounding" slump, but frankly I cannot imagine how Murphy could ever average double-digits in rebounds again.

And I hate when Rick Barry says "Troy Murphy is a classic double-double guy."

What the hell is he talking about? lol

I miss Dampier and Jamison. Yeah, you can say whatever you want about Dampier and how he is overpaid, but then, Dampier is only getting 2 more mils then Foyle, so we are not exactly in position to make a fun of Dampier's new contract. At least when he was on the court, he ate up a lot of space and he was a good rebounder. With Dampier and Jamison, we were no. 2 (0.0), no. 1 (+3.4, 5th), no. 1 (+2.9, 4th) in rebounding and with Dampier alone, we were still no. 7 in rebounding with +.9 in rebounding. Without them, we still ranked no. 10 in rebounding last year, but our difference was 29th with -3.9, so there were already a big sign of trouble. And this year, we are 17th at rebounding with dead last at difference with -4.2. And, that's with Richardson and Davis getting 5.9 and 4.6 rebounds, which is 4th and 5th in their respected positions.

Guess it's not so surprising when nobody boxes out and eats up space for rebounding. It was disturbing to see both Kaman and Brand continously hitting offense rebounds like they were about to gobbled up defense rebound, while our players were nowhere near to be found. Positioning for reboundings are one thing, but providing soft and undersized big men are another big reason. Ever since Mullin chose to resign Foyle instead of Dampier and Dunleavy over Jamison, and resigning Murphy, our rebounding dropped from the top of league to dead last. Will this problem ever be solved anytime soon?

Not really if this team keeps going with small lineups or decide to attack the boards harder, especially on the offensive end. In this game, the Warriors were being beaten easily in the paint in the middle of the second quarter, and Montgomery's substitution was to take out Dunleavy and put in Baron Davis. The end lineup on the court was three guards and Murphy and Foyle. Maybe the team looks to add a SF who can help more on boards like Brian Cardinal or Antawn Jamison. And also hope that Chris Taft can get away from his back spasms. Also I just say, who cares if Biedrins gets 2 fouls in 2 minutes of the first half. Foul trouble for Biedrins shouldn't be a concern. Just let him play, I think he would help on boards and defense at least. And it's not like he'd get so much playing time otherwise.

Going back to adding a SF in to rebound. Why was it that Zarko didn't get any playing time. I think that would had been a good time to use him as the SF, to use his height to add another person that could fight for rebounds, and plus he does have skills, so he could contribute a lot. Also maybe Biedrins plays SF? No, but I like Zarko more in this case.

I hate Montgomery's lack of faith in so many players on this team. Last year it was Pietrus, this year it's pretty much the whole bench besides Fisher and Pietrus.

Not to mention that Dampier would've loved Monty. He anchor's his offense around the post. He was getting a little better passing out of the post, but I think that it'd make for a much better team if you swaped him for Foyle right now.
