Wow, the Gators dropped 10 spots by losing by 4 pts to a very underrated Tennessee(#17 in your poll now) team on the road(double our arena for the amount of fans) when our best player was hobbled and could barely get down the floor? Damn you guys really did think we were overrated didn't you?

So how many more wins until Zona can crack the top 25? If they beat UNC will we be talking top 25 again?

With the losses they've had, it'll honestly take a lot to get Zona back in, IMO. The Pac 10 has been a bit disappointing, so they'll need some very strong showings, and beating UNC would be nice, but not what it once was, because they're overrated as all hell [IMG]

Oklahoma has been bad so far. I would take LSU, North Carolina or Iowa over them.

Heh, also a funny thing, Washington is 16-2. Pretty good. They lost to Arizona (12-6) and Washington St. (9-7). Okay, not that good. But in addition... both losses were at home. Coming up, they play 8 of their last 12 on the road. So I expect them to drop a lot.

What's this line about Corey Brewer being your best player? He probably is, but you were saying yourself that your team's strength was in their unselfishness and well-roundedness. He's a key contributer but not so important to the team that you can't win without him. Besides, in the first few minutes he was getting the ball almost every trip down the floor, so he obviously had some sort of effect on the game, even if only brief. His injury isn't a legit excuse for losing the game.

As for the Gators dropping ten spots, we don't do it like the ESPN poll. We don't just drop teams a predetermined number of spots every week. When you do that, you wind up with very illogical rankings, like Memphis being ranked over Texas or Louisville, Syracuse, and North Carolina still being ranked. I personally dropped them less than ten spots, but I'll support those who did drop them ten or more. There's no reason to be politically correct about it. If you had a team top five last week, finally got to see them play, and determined they weren't even a top fifteen caliber team, then why go through all the bullsh-t of dropping them to #8 or #9? Why not drop them straight to #16?

Not sure if I explained that right, but I hope you get what I was trying to say...

I agree with you about Oklahoma, although I'm not sure if I'd have any of the teams you suggested in the rankings. Iowa's got an impressive resume, but for a team on the bubble, being blown out by thirty points wasn't exactly the best thing that could have happened to the Hawkeyes. They've got Indiana (tonight) and Ohio State (Saturday) coming up at home. Seeing how they're home games, I think they should win both, but regardless of the outcome, we'll find out a lot about the Hawkeyes this week.

I don't see any reason to rank North Carolina. They've only got one quality win, they got blown out by USC, they lost to both Miami and Virginia in the past few days, and last Sunday they were a Wes Miller three pointer away from losing to Florida State. The team's resume is trash, and they haven't really been that impressive on the court.

I really like LSU. All of their losses have come to great teams and could have easily gone the other way, but still, you don't get ranked for almost beating ranked teams. Their 4-0 start in conference play and their win over West Virginia are really impressive though, but I personally couldn't bring myself to rank a team with five losses yet. At least, not with so many teams out there unranked with two or three.
