<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Agent wants Evans to be traded The News Tribune Published: January 23rd, 2006 02:30 AM PHOENIX – The agent for Seattle SuperSonics forward Reggie Evans has asked general manager Rick Sund to trade his client. Dan Fegan, at Sunday’s game against Phoenix at US Airways Arena, said that since new Sonics coach Bob Hill does not want to play Evans, he recently approached Sund and asked that his client be dealt to a team that could better use his services. “Reggie wants to stay in Seattle, he likes Seattle,” Fegan said. “But clearly there is not a role for Reggie on this team. With that said, we would prefer the team trade him to a place that can better utilize his skills.” Sund, on the trip with the team, confirmed that Fegan had made the request but declined to comment further. </div> http://www.thenewstribune.com/sports/sonic...p-4941717c.html surprise surprise...
Can anyone blame him? If we could get a back-up point with size in a trade it would benefit the team, but I'd be sad to see Reggie go all the same.
I know this is not related to the post...but 3 users in a row has the signature "fire shiek"...do you really not like him that much???

Evans better do more than just ask for a trade if he wants to get out. As it stands now there are only about 3 weeks to the deadline and I can't imagine things getting much better for Evans now that Bobby Swift and Petro have cemented themselves in the rotation. If he wants out he needs to force management's hand. Otherwise he should keep his request in house and not broadcast his intentions to the media--whether it be through his agent or indirectly by his comments. If he wants out all he has to do is go on record about how the Sonics are more inclined to draft and play white players. It may hurt his public image and there isn't any indisputable evidence behind it, but it will get the attention of management, and it would probably get him out of Seattle. If he makes reference to the fact that they excessively overpaid for McIlvaine, drafted four white players in the first round with their last five first round picks, and everyone of those players has made more money and will be offered more money than he has as a three year starter--his argument could look to have some merit. Especially considering how Vlad has approached the season this year, it isn't unfair to say that he has been unjustly demoted. It is very risky, but it may generate enough attention to force Evans to be moved quickly so that his perceived "negative influences" doesn't affect those white players--in particular Bobby Swift. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting anadagirlballer4strt:</div><div class="quote_post">I know this is not related to the post...but 3 users in a row has the signature "fire shiek"...do you really not like him that much???</div> You have to be strong to survive in this forum. Being liked is overrated.
