just became a catagory 5 hurricane, its in the middle of the gulf, anything can happen , but it looks like its gonna hit southern texas right now
I just read an article on CNN that said this hurricane hitting Texas could cause gas lines next week along with gas at $5.00 a gallon. If any of you guys own vehicles, you might want to gas up on Friday.
Yea New Orleans should see a lot of rain fall and could even be flooded again. If Rita stays on course it shouldn't hit New Orleans. Looks like Texas,
Living in Southern California for the next two weeks, this translates to more that $5.00/gallon. I gotta get back to Minnesota.
GALVESTON, Texas - Hospital and nursing home patients were evacuated and as many as 1 million other people were ordered to clear out along the Gulf Coast on Wednesday as Hurricane Rita grew to a Category 5, 165-mph monster that could pummel Texas and bring more misery to New Orleans by week?s end. Forecasters said Rita could be the most intense hurricane on record ever to hit Texas, and one of the most powerful ever to slam into the U.S. mainland. All of Galveston, vulnerable sections of Houston and Corpus Christi, and a mostly emptied-out New Orleans were under mandatory evacuation orders, one day after Rita sideswiped the Florida Keys as a far weaker storm and caused minor damage. Having seen what 145-mph Hurricane Katrina did three weeks ago, many people were taking no chances as Rita swirled its way across the Gulf of Mexico. ?After this killer in New Orleans, Katrina, I just cannot fathom staying,? 59-year-old Ldyyan Jean Jocque said before sunrise as she waited for an evacuation bus outside the Galveston Community Center. She had packed her Bible, some music and clothes into plastic bags and loaded her dog into a pet carrier. I got that off msn.com news... this looks bad, real bad!
they say that this is like the record for hurricanes this year and there is more to come so why do u guys think all these hurricanesare comin around? maybe its global warming which is making the water a bit warmer which in turn is making the hurricanes more powerful and plentiful
Heavy hurricane seasons come in cycles...we are in the middle of a busy season. The official naming of hurricanes only started about 50-60 years ago...assume that the cycle comes over several years, then several years off, setting a record is not that unsurprising.
thinking about the hurricane hitting texas made me realize that we have no texans fans do we? btw how can i get a big picture attached to the bottom of my posts like panthersare#1s very nice picture?
use photobucket to get the code for whatever picture you want and then in profile put it as your signature...
